Jeep Grand Cherokee Rebates & CDI Lease Question
by checkercab on Fri Nov 20 15:05:10 PST 2009
Hi Car_man, I am in New York and my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee lease runs out at the end of November. I was considering leasing another Jeep Grand Cherokee and have a credit score of 800. I will also be getting a CDI number from a family member who works for Chrysler. My question is given all the new incentives and rebates that were just announced for the Northeast, my owner loyalty and CDI number approximately how much savings might I be looking at at leasing a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Thank you for your help.

Hi airoops. It wouldn't hurt to see if any other Chrysler dealers would be willing to give you more for your Grand Cherokee as a trade than it would cost you to purchase it at lease-end. Chances are nothing will come of it, consumers are usually better off just walking away from their leased vehicle at the end of their term, but you never know. 2010 here we come
by giantsin06 on Sat Nov 14 12:25:14 PST 2009
I'm to take delivery of my 2010 Jeep Wrangler xs in a week. I'm leaving a lease of a 2007 Rubicon...sad parting , but the Rubi is more car than I need .No bare rock hills ,impassible terrain here . My son , who is a car salesman (toyota) guided me through what I think is a grand deal . This time I'm buying , no $ down , 5.4 % interest for 72 months . ,$409 per . With the stimulus tax deduction and a Chrysler refund of $1200 (due to unused mileage on lease) , I'm quite happy. If things work out I'm going to try to pay off well before the six years. Jeep is a two door. I just don't think of the four doors as real Jeeps. And the soft doors are a must as well. RED ROCK RED and ready to roll ! :)
Carman - Question on Jeep Lease End
by airoops on Thu Nov 12 08:50:48 PST 2009
Carman- Lease is coming due at the end of the month on my Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd. My buyout ($20.5k) looks like is maybe $2-4k lower than what the used cars in this range are selling for at local dealers. My question is, is it possible to shop the car to some other local area jeep dealers (other than who I purchased the car from) to see if they want to take it off my hands, rather than just hand over the keys in the normal lease end process. This way, I may be able to avoid the turn-in fees and any damage, while the dealer would get the car at a price where they can make some money? Or does Chrysler Financial not allow this?? I am not looking to make any money off the turn-in, just avoid the $400 turn in fee and any damage they try and nickel and dime me on. Thanks in advance!

I bought a loaded (rear DVD, chrome package) 2009 Overland in NJ in October for 35k - sticker was 48k. It was a demo with 5k miles. I think some of the incentives are no longer availabe for the 2009s. I was happy with the price and love the jeep so far!

"My fear is walking away - we love the car and I know that this will most likely be it (since it is discontinued in 2010. The dealership is in such an affluent area that they would probably get someone in next week to write a check for MSRP. " This is exactly what the dealer wants you to be thinking, so you will pay a higher price. If you're not prepared to walk away from the deal unless they give you atleast $12K or 25% off, then go ahead a buy at whatever deal you can get. However, you would then be wise to forget about continuing to research what prices other people are paying, because you will see others getting the deal you were afraid to demand. Regarding mileage, it honestly doesn't really matter if you drive the Jeep off the lot with 50 miles or 5000 miles. You would have about the same amount of depreciation if you needed to turn around and sell it quickly. The point to remember, you will be getting the lifetime drivetrain warranty even though the Jeep has demo miles, and the 3 year/36000 warranty is added to whatever miles are on the Jeep. IMHO, you should wait until the last week of the month. Go in and make your best offer. If they won't accept, leave a phone number and tell them they have a day or so because you're going to buy a new car, even if it's not their Jeep. You will get a call back with a discount in the 25% off MSRP range. Good luck
