Re: TO Mook12 [miquelny] by nyccarguy on Sat May 14 04:43:13 PDT 2011

You can't compare Grand Cherokee prices (or any car that matter) to that of 2-3 years ago. The current 2011 redesign was announced back in what, 2008 or 2009? The old body stlye Grand Cherokee was literally a dead duck for the past 2-3 years. Anybody could pretty much walk into a dealership and get one for between $8,000 & $10,000 off MSRP without even trying. You can't expect that kind of discount on a brand new redesign in it's 1st model year. I'm not saying you should pay full boat MSRP, but there are NO factory to dealer incentives (cash back).

Lease question on JGC ? by hotstick12 on Wed Apr 20 12:24:12 PDT 2011

Hey guys i have a deal on the table in Suffolk county long island NY for a Jeep grand cher X package w/ moonroof and nav on 36 month lease ,(msrp is 38,234.57 ) im paying (36,585).White exterior and black interior. They are taking back 4 payments of my current lease of 300.51 mo and rolling into the new lease.I also received $1000 rebate for coming out of a non Chrysler/dodge/jeep lease. They gave me a deal of $2022.07 down(includes tax/1st month payment) with 470 a month 12 k miles a year ! What do you guys think of this deal??Thanks in advance for any input !!Oh lease is thru Ally Bank.

Re: Will 2010 GCs get bigger rebate? [can50turtle] by lovejeeps1 on Mon Oct 25 03:13:40 PDT 2010

Hi,I hope I;m not to late in responding to you,I have owned 2 JGC in the past both 99"s,then stupidly thought I wanted acar....that DID NOT work out.So On Oct.22,2010,I went to look at the newer Jeeps The 2010,and the 2011...To answer your question,I ended up getting a 2010,and it took the dealer almost 2 hours on thier search options to even find one!!!! They are hard to find right now,I feel lucky they did find the one I was looking for.Although it is used condition(12,000 miles)I got the limited I wanted,so they r saying I can't get any incentives which i think is crazy....I did want a 2011,drove the base model,as they said I could get that for "almost" the same price??? and the seat was sooo hard even my husband commented on it.I am awaiting delivery as they had to get mine from Virginia,I live in upstate NY.So My suggestion to u is,go for the 2010 as They said there won't be any incentives on the 2011 any time soon.I wish you all the luck, and one more thing as far as styling the 2010 in my eyes is a beauty though I am use to a 1999,so there is a world of difference. They also have a very smooth ride I could not believe it...Jeep has come along way in 11 years.I will say this I do like the body changes they made on the 2011,but look at the seats to me they look very cheap and thin...I don't know where u live but if u r any where near ny,go to Friendly dodge/chrysler/jeep,they are GREAT and will go out of there way to get u exactly want you want, with the payment u want or as close as they can get,and they will give u a great deal on any trade in u may have,I promise you'll be happy with the service u get from these guys, tell them Robin Martin sent you.As I said GOOD LUCK and I hope you get what you want. PS,the incentives on new 2010"s are Great right now,so go for it

Re: 2008 Grand Cherokee Lease [barrier] by ejv207 on Thu Jul 31 04:16:39 PDT 2008

I know that NY, NJ and CT charge sales tax on the rebates, as for the dealer discount, I believe they charged taxes on the total out amount out of pocket and the rebates, so the amount sounds about right at 8.25%. I wouldn't put it past them to try and make extra money on the collection of taxes, but there can be serious consequences for overcharging on a purchase, so I would think they would try to fudge numbers elsewhere on the lease. I'm guessing dealer discounts totaled anywhere from $1000 to $2500? Your talking about $80 to $204 tops, which works out to $2 to $5 more a month. Considering the great deal you got, I wouldn't worry about it too much. They didn't charge you tax on the whole truck, which I've read they try to do. As for the service contract, that sounds like a load of cowpies that the warranty is voided if you don't do the service with them. The required maintenance for your vehicle is listed in the owners manual and you can get your Jeep serviced wherever you want. They are looking to make a buck by tacking on a premium on the CSC service contract. Go to the Jeep website and then the 'For Owners' Page, you will see a link to Service Contracts. Give them a call about a maintenance package, as you can buy that direct from Chrysler. Ask CSC how much the price is for scheduled maintenance for the term of your lease, I think they offer 3000, 3500, and 5000 service intervals. I'd love to know what the difference is between the two. One thing though, if you purchase the contract, you are required to have it serviced at one specific dealer (usually the one where you purchased it, but you can get the contract with whichever Jeep dealer you like). Even with the 3000 mile service schedule, you will need at most 10 oil changes, and a set of spark plugs at 30k miles, maybe some new wipers, and tire rotations. $1,000.00 is waaay to much for all that. Then they will charge you obscene amounts for things like fog lamp bulbs and brake pads which aren't covered under the scheduled maintenance. I got charged $60 by the dealer for a fog lamp bulb (I couldn't find the bulb at any store), then wised up and bought the other bulb on the internet: Autozone for $10. I'm a DIY type when it comes to oil changes, but had a maintenance contract for my last Jeep for the convenience and plan to do the same with my HEMI as well. I think they are well worth it if you have a busy schedule, but I'd make sure to buy direct from Chrysler.

Fully Loaded Laredo Deal by benzboy429 on Mon Jan 08 11:08:55 PST 2007

Some help would be greatly appreciated. Please understand my situation. I am trading in a 2006 Honda Civic EX 2 door coupe auto transmission with navigation. The Civic has 26,000 Miles (I Know) Anyway, I gotta get rid of it. I'm getting the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4 26X Package Navi/Backup UConnect OWL Tires MSRP - $ 36,965.00 The Dealer is selling me the truck for $ 33,965.00 Minus the $3,500 rebate brings me to $ 30,465.00 Now with that said They are giving me $15,500. for the civic with a payoff for the loan of $22,500. Which now leaves me with $7000 to add on to the new car. the deal is written up. I have to put down $4,370.00 to make my car payment $628.99 for 39 months @ 10.5k miles a year. I was told my credit is not the best and I'm approved with a Tier D. I pretty much got the dealer to all of their limits possible. I do not think they can go any lower. They are throwing in full maintanace for the life of the lease. Any help on this would be great. I'm ready to sign unless someone tells me to go to another dealer or renegotiate. Oh and by the way I'm in NY (Long Island) 628.99 includes tax and transfer plates dmv etc. Thank you!
