2008 Liberty Limited with Sky Slider... by gtangjr on Tue Jun 24 19:50:43 PDT 2008

Also got Premium Groups 1 and 2, MyGig, Premium Audio, Tow Pkg, Leather (slate gray), Chrome Grill, Siding, Rear Cover, and Wheels. It's the 2WD. Paid $300 over invoice ($29,735 before T&L) and chose the $2.99 gas instead of the rebate. Also got the maintenance plan for $1,400.00, which includes rental. Purchased from David Ellis Jeep in Canoga Park, CA from James. Very, very cool guy. No pressure at all. Issues so far: *They forgot to charge the A/C system. Found this out on a 117-degree San Fernando Valley day. They fixed it right away. *They forgot to install the little antenna. Had to go back to pick it up. *MyGig has frozen a couple of times. Resetting has done the trick. *Wind noise evident at 75MPH+ while Sky-Slider roof is closed. *Only achieving about 15MPG, even with a lot of highway driving (without stop and go).

2005 X Wrangler by gayjeepboy on Sun May 07 09:32:25 PDT 2006

I just purchased a 2005 X Wrangler MSRP 23995.00 Purchase Price 15995.00 I highly recommend a 2005 vs a 2006. 1) The 05 has a 7 yr/70K mile warranty vs. the 3 yr. 36K warranty on the 06 2) The bumpers on the 06's are cheapened vs th 05's. They left off the caps and put a plug on each end of the bumper. 3) There is virtually no difference mechanically, interior, etc betwee the two years. I prrchased min at Rancho Auto Group in San Diego Ca. I hate buying cars and hasseling wit the dealers but thie was the best buying experience I ever had . I highly recommend this dealership.

New 2005 Wrangler Sport 6sp by jeepersx1 on Sun Nov 06 13:12:13 PST 2005

I just bought a 2005 Wrangler Sport (with 12 miles) and I think I got a good deal. MSRP was $24,245 and Edmunds TMV had it pegged at $22,900 (including the options). I drove it out the lot for $22,000, which included CA taxes and DMV fees. One thing I'm not sure of is whether or not I should've purchased the 60mo/75K scheduled maintenance service contract. I wound up paying $1890 for it. It seemed like a good deal at the time. Any thoughts on this? Thanks! BTW I really love the Jeep (first one) and I've never had so much fun going out on "small" errands (just so I can drive it). I feel as giddy as a 12 year old school girl who just got her first bra LOL. And I'm a 37 year old dude :)

2000 GC laredo V8 loaded 11500 73k good deal? by frank on Tue Aug 17 22:31:46 PDT 2004

Is it a good deal? Should I worry about the 73k miles? When does it start to be costly repair wise? it is a 2wd, is it much better mileage wise? also can I still use some of the rugged features of the truck with a 2wd only? Thx! F.

Mileage and Chrome Wheels by youn0813 on Fri Oct 03 13:13:03 PDT 2003

My trip monitor seems to be very inaccurate because it says +/- 15 on freeway when I go 80 MPH and in the city where I stop like every 2 minutes. City driving stinks real bad because I see the gas gauge needle going down, seriously! I didn't observe the city driving but the freeway driving I get about 20 miles/gal. The stupid thing is that AVG MIL/GAL goes up by 0.1 after about 30 minutes of driving on the freeway and goes down by 0.1 after about 30 minutes of city driving. So it's like when I go see my parents I get about + 0.4 miles/gal, then loose what I got from the freeway when I drive around town. Then again, I go see my parents and get the same thing all over and the cycle repeats itself, not doing anything to the 'shown' mileage. I think it's pretty retarded to have this kind of inaccuracy in a 40G car.. I'm going to ask the dealer next time I go for my first oil change. And I will check my city mileage next time I fill up my tank. About your question regarding the trip monitor matching the odometer.. I wouldn't know because I reseted my "trip mile" menu many times when I went places.. Haha.. But the trip mileage seems to be accurate. It's just the AVG MIL/GAL that's inaccurate. It changes so slow I don't know how the trip computer is calculating this value!! As for the Chrome wheels.. I love mine even though they are plastic. I thought they were metal but turned out to be plastic. But no worries because I'm not going off roading with this car, as you said, you would have to be either crazy or just have a tree growing money in your backyard to take this thing offroad! I'm just hoping I won't be so unlucky and have something hard hit the wheels! That would be not very good... You can always replace one from the spare tire though. They really shine a lot and are like mirror when you wash them and thoroughly dry them with a towel. Best-looking chrome wheels I've ever seem. Immagine cleaning those BMW wheels with a brush every inch because you're fingers can't go into the small gaps!
