LS Seats by paisan on Thu Apr 12 21:20:52 PDT 2001

They are pretty comfy now at 20K miles :) The LS with Moonroof + 2wd should be no more than around $25-27K. I paid $27.5 last year for a 4wd w/moonroof. The amount of $ you'll save getting a Trooper you could probably buy new seats + a center console for it and still come out much cheaper than the Tahoe :) Check out http://isuzu-suvs.com If you read the Metalfest '01 section you'll see why Isuzu owners are a different breed than any other car manufactuer! :) -mike

The 6 cd changer only has one slot. Hit the button for the slot you want and when you get 2 blinking lights on either side of the slot, stick in your CD. You can do this for any/all the slots. Here are the other answers: 1) Not sure of a noise near the shifter 2) Power button moves your shift points to redline instead of around 4500rpms, gives crisper harder acceleration Winter mode can be engaged when in "D" at a stop and starts the car in 3rd gear so as not to spin the rear tires in snow, it disengages after you hit 20mph. 3) TOD can be left on 24x7, it can be used on dry. This will automatically shift anywhere from 15%->50% of the power to the front axle. 4) None that I know of on '99s 5) 30K intervals are the major ones 6) 3yr 50K miles Welcome to the club, check out http://isuzu-suvs.com for some good info and pics. -mike

Carmax by paisan on Tue Feb 20 20:14:43 PST 2001

Carmax is owned by the same people who own Circuit City. As far as I'm concerned they are a "self-serve" type of place like circuit city who doesn't pay their employees well and lives off of paying em min. wage. I had a good experience at a carmax in MD trading in a car, but wouldn't trust em to a new/used car purchase. (knowing how much they gave my buddy for his car) I know they need to make that back somewhere. Glad to hear the Isuzu dealers were actually helpful. Good pointers for people in the market for a vehicle as well. -mike

The 3.5l in the Trooper is a slightly larger version of the 3.2l Also the trooper recieved an excellent repair rating from Consumer reports. I'm not sure what the rating of the pathfinder was. I'd also be wondering a little bit about a company that none of the major car manufacturers would even buy (Nissan) and a company who's future is unknown. At the very least 1/2 of Isuzu is owned by GM. The 6.6l Duramax engine in the new GM pickups is 100% Isuzu, and the upcoming generation of S10/S15/Hombre pickups is being designed and built by Isuzu. -mike
