Re: 2008 G35 Buying Strategy [silica1]
by dwynne on Fri Nov 30 08:34:37 PST 2007
None of us knows what prices will do, it all depends on supply and demand. Infiniti is unlikely to put dealer cash on the cars any time soon - in fact they NEVER did on the MY07 sedans that were left over on the lots when the 08s came out. They did put money (up to $2,500) on the G35 coupes, but that was because of the G37 re-do. They DO have lease and loan specials to help move cars, but never have customer rebates (except something like the owner loyalty $500 they have now). So if you know invoice and know what the hold back is, that is the bottom line dealer makes no money price. If you can get one now for invoice give or take bit either way, that would be a nice deal. I would not think any need to wait if you are paying cash. The DEALERS may be more motivated to give you a deal next year than they are now, but that just depends on how many they have sitting on the lot and how many more are on the way. For the sedan there is little changed for MY08, so if you can live w/o the ipod adapter and a few other things you can try to find a left over 07 and see how low they will go on it - but I am betting you could score an 08 for not much more so I would go that route. I would use the Infiniti dealer locator and start in an ever-widening circle from where you live contacting dealers. If they have a web page (if they don't, I would not bother with them) then contact their "Internet sales manager" or get an "online quote". If you don't hear back, and have checked your spam traps, then you might forget about those dealers (they have a web page up but don't do anything with it). When you do get e-mail just tell them you are shopping for the best price, no trade, paying cash and you want the bottom line price - and then give them your exact specs. Make sure you ask them to include the cost of the car, destination, and any and all dealer prep or doc fees in the quote. The tax/title stuff should be same no matter where you buy and if you buy out of state you will likely be doing that work for yourself. Just keep going wider and wider until you get as far away as you are willing to travel, then either pick the best deal or start working them for a deal you can live with. If their first shot is way high or they have a $500 or something "doc" fee you may have to just cross them off your list since trying to work down from some silly number (like $500 off MSRP) or working against a high doc fee will mean you not get as good a deal as you can get elsewhere. There ARE Infiniti dealers that charge a small or even $0 doc fees. I have purchased cars from WI, CT, GA, TN, and KY dealers doing it this way - with good prices all the time. I used car haulers to bring cars in sight unseen or flown out and drive back, or for closer ones just get a friend/family member to ride along for the pickup trip. If you work for a company that is a supplier or affiliated with Nissan you can get a VPP claim code and buy for < $300 over invoice with no haggle. If you know someone that works for them - ditto. If you are a close relative of someone that works for them - you can do about invoice with no haggle. Folks here may can suggest area dealers that they have dealt with that offered good deals. The ones I know of are 6 hours or more from you, one way :( . Dennis
Re: What factors go into the Cap Cost as listed on the lease? [carchic1]

Wheel locks...that is a good question. I have one local dealer adding $170 for wheel locks. Are those supposed to be standard equip, or could it be a dealer add on? If it is, I assume I can just tell th dealer I don't want them? Also, good question about Destination, Acquisition, and Doc fees. Does the biyer have the choice of adding this to monthly payment, or do they have to be paid up front? I ask because the whole purpose of leasing, iMHO, is to pay as little up front as possible, and "pay for use." Finally, I'd like to hear from anyone in the Midwest who has leased a 35x recently. I haven't seen any quotes in WI or Chicagpland that come close to the pricing in SoCal, NJ, and other places mentioned in the forum.

Living in WI, I can't find any dealer here or in the Chicagoland area to budge very much at all off MSRP for a 35x sedan. Also, my local dealer is very limited incolor choices. Just curious, my top 2 choices are Liquid Platinum and Black. (Although I haven't actually SEEN the LP yet) I've heard positive comments about Blue Slate, but I can't picture blue looking good on this vehicle?
Re: Best place to buy G35 close to invoice in Mid-west [hsw]
by em_ge on Fri Jun 01 10:41:14 PDT 2007
Infiniti Barrington Motorwerks was talking to me with some prices pretty close to invoice. I think it was about $500 over... I was trying to get it at invoice, he said he had to check with his manager, but hasn't called back. End of month seems a little easier to get answers from these guys. What kind of car are you trying to get? Has anybody ever met someone here who was interested to buy around the same time and then both of you went to the dealer to buy together? I mean I think that would help a lot in negotiating invoice and below invoice prices, don't you guys think? Well if anyone is interested to buy in either, chicago area or southern WI, let me know. I plan on buying within 2-6 weeks probably.
$419/Mo. for 2007 FX35 24 mo. lease

What's the good/bad with this deal? Newbie, trying to determine the #'s on this deal. Sounds like from what everyone states, less $ up front or down is best, so this goes against that notion. But, is it still a good deal? 2007 FX35 AWD Touring model 87417 subject to availability to IFS Tier I qualified lessees through Infiniti-Nissan LT. MSRP $41,300 includes destination charge. Net capitalized cost of $36,342 includes a $595 non-refundable acquisition fee. Retailer contribution may affect actual price set by retailer. Monthly payments total $10,056.00. At lease end, purchase for $28,910.00, plus $150 purchase option fee (except KS & WI), plus tax, or pay excess wear and tear plus $0.20 per mile for mileage over 12000 miles per year. Lessee is responsible for maintenance and repairs. See participating retailer for details. Offer ends 1/2/07.
Re: Any experiences with dealers in Minneapolis? [jlindquist]
by twincities on Wed Dec 13 10:41:10 PST 2006
I'm also looking at a 07 g35x prem pack in Minneapolis. I was hoping to get $1000 or so off MSRP. Both dealers seem to have plenty of inventory. I had a good experience at both dealers but the Bloomington dealer seemed to know more about the car. Has anyone purchased one in the cities? I was also thinking of going to Madison WI if I could get a better deal.
