Buy 08 G37 now or wait for 09 by krniethamer on Sat May 10 08:52:51 PDT 2008

I just found this forum. What a great resource. I live in Plano, TX. I have decided to go with the G37 Journey, Red/Graphite, w/ Premium Pkg & NAV. My question is do I buy now, an 08, or wait for the 09. How can I find out what, if any, changes there will be with the 09 including price? Thanks in advance for any help.

Shopping for Loaded G35 in DFW by allentier on Sat Mar 29 21:37:12 PDT 2008

Car to buy? a pretty loaded G35: G35 Journey (Auto so my wife can drive it!) Premium Pack Sport Pack Nav System Tech Pack plus whatever Nissan will force you buy (Mats, Cargo Nets, Splash Guard, etc). Trade in: 1999 Toyota Sienna LE with 124K miles. Dealer visited: Infiniti Crest, in Plano TX. Sales Rep: Leasing Manger. My Experience: As soon as I approached the dealer, someone offered his assistance. I thanked him and and I was left alone to browse the car inventory and check the new cars in the showroom. Then, when I am done, I stopped by the sales manger and asked for assistance. Available sales Reps were paged and the Leasing Manager took over. The L Mgr started questioning me what car I am interested in. So, I explained that I am looking for G35 with the above packages . He started his search on his computer and each time he could not find what I want in his inventory, he tried to steer me away from that package. He was a bit pushy and annoying. Since, he did not have any Premium with Sport Pack, he goes what in this package that do you like? How about Wheel and tires Pack? I insisted that I like Sport Pack. So, he moved to find the color combo. I asked for Graphite/Graphite he tried to put in in Blue Slate/Graphite (which is Okay but not my first choice). Then, when I asked for Tech Pack, he said that to get it he has to swap it from California and I have to pay $1200 for Transpo fee. Again, trying push me in car of not my choice but his. Then, he offered a test drive in G35 Journey/Sport (A Demo with one of the managers. It had 1800 miles). We went for like 15 mins on back roads to test road handling and short acceleration stints. I was bit impressed with available torque and road handling. It was a bit stiff on bumpy roads but this is expected. It did not have Nav to try it. Back to the dealer, Now, the car that he tried to sell me is G35 with: Premium Package Infiniti Navigation Packag Sport Package Painted Splash Guards Trunk Mat Trunk Cargo Net MSRP: $39,625 INVOICE: $36,089 And now it is time to talk numbers. Back from his Sales Manager desk He came with his Magic Numbers. I was offered $3k for my trade and I expected $5k. I asked about a Rebate, and he claimed he is not sure and has to check with his manager. With VPP Plan D, I was offered $37K. I passed since I know they can do better. I skimmed at the financing numbers and decided to cut it short since the financing rate would be 2.9% anyways. He asked where I would like to be? and I offered $34k + Tax + Tags + and Title Fees. I added he can exclude the trade-in if he is not interested. He resisted my offer and said no way I can buy such car at this price. I mentioned that online research indicated at or below invoice minus rebate. Then, when I tried to leave he followed me to the front door and offered to sell at invoice. Finally, he asked make an offer to buy. I said $34K for the above car, and $35k if Tech Pack is included. I added, Monday is the 31st of March and you can have 1 more car sold. I left with a feeling that I will be contacted next Monday. I had in mind to get $5k from my car, put down ~$7k ($5k and, $2k tax+fees) and finance like $24k-$25k at 2.9% for 60 months and the monthly payment will around $450. With no trade in, I can still the put down the additional $5k Fair enough?

Re: looking to buy an 06 g35 in dallas [pilgrim22] by pilgrim22 on Thu Nov 17 11:17:44 PST 2005

Replying to my own message (first sign of insanity???), here's my pricing so far from 3 dealers in DFW area, 06 sedan, a/t, prem C, splash guards, XM radio, diamond graphite/stone/aluminum trim: MSRP 36200 (or in region of) - Sewell won't come down much below 35000 even, but dealing with them face-to-face, friendly, helpful service, very convenient to where I work. Only has white 05s left (if any). The current favorite, despite the higher price. - Crest in Plano is offering 34650 (roughly) - MSRP was 36803 with tint & stripe (600 extra????), discounted to 35300, split difference with offer of 34000. So far the best deal, not sure about the tint&stripe costing extra, internet sales guy seems to think I now want a sand color (poor attention to detail). - So far no response from Grubbs after an initial inquiry last Saturday (5 days ago). They snooze, they lose. Inconveniently located in mid-cities. Just curious about the tint & stripe - is this standard on all G35s but NOT included in the MSRPs? What if I didn't want it? Cheers, p22

Re: looking to buy an 06 g35 in dallas [sosk] by pilgrim22 on Sun Nov 13 18:38:20 PST 2005

I haven't driven the G35 coupe, but I am very impressed by the sedan. Sewell let me take one for an extended test drive (where I had a demo car for 24 hours), and I fell in love with it in that time. I found it very responsive (especially for an automatic), it had lots of power, the interior was very nice and the Bose stereo (included in premium pkg) sounded great. I only test-drove the TL at McDavid's in Plano for a few minutes. But I was impressed by its power and smooth shifting (the reasons why I wanted to try the G35 again), but we (my wife and I) were not as impressed with its interior - there were a few small things that we didn't like , which were not a problem in the G35. It's often the small things that make a difference. Don't get me wrong - the TL is a fine car, and a great value with almost all the extras already included in its price. But we feel the G35 is a better car, and worth the extra $ - it has more power (at the cost of fuel efficiency), feels nicer inside, rides nicely and is very sure-footed on the road. Basically my wife and I could think of nothing we did not like about the G35, and several things about the TL. I have not tried the Acura TSX. Also a note about the dealership experiences - we are finding the Sewell dealership, and our salesman in particular, to be friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, but I fear they may not be willing to come down much on the price from MSRP. But they do offer tremendous after-sales service (e.g. free loaner cars for servicing appoinments), and everyone else there is very courteous. In contrast, we were not at all impressed by the McDavid's dealership, and the salesman "assigned" to us, so we will not be buying a car from them. It all depends on how you like each car yourself - the extended test drive made my mind up, although we were already leaning heavily towards it anyway. So I highly recommend you try each car for a longer period, if you can, and see which one fits you best. Cheers, and apologies if you found this response a little long-winded... :) p22

G35 Purchase in Plano, TX by lb75 on Mon Jun 20 07:43:51 PDT 2005

Hats off to Crest Infiniti of Plano, TX. I purchased a new G35 Sedan standard package w/sunroof and tint on June 18. The sales consultant, sales manager and finance manager were all very professional, courteous and easy to work with and made the purchase a pleasurable experience. I was able to purchase the car for less than TMV and the 2.9% finance rate is definately hard to beat. If you are in the market, I suggest giving them a try.
