Hello all, Great insights on this board - I am hoping to just get to the bottom line and have folks list out what I should expect to pay to lease an M35/M35x in Charlotte, NC. I will be looking for the base car with 36 months / 12k miles per year. Please let me know what my target cap cost should be when I speak to the dealers. Thanks!
2008 G35 Buying Experience in North Carolina
by silica1 on Tue Apr 22 10:50:08 PDT 2008
I purchased a new 2008 G35 Journey with the Premium Package (black on black)before the end of March. I have really enjoyed driving the car especially since I haven't had a fun car for about 15 years! I was able to get a great deal for the area that I live and want to thank all of you for the information that you provide on this forum. It was very helpful to prepare me for negotiating a price. To help others who might be purchasing a G35 in NC, I'll give the prices offered from several dealers. Since NC does not have very many dealers, I couldn't find a deal at invoice although I came close. I also purchased the vehicle with cash and no trade so the dealer couldn't make money on financing or a low trade price. I didn't buy an extended warranty either. Here are the prices relative to invoice. Modern Infiniti (Greensboro): $939 + $500 doc fee Lake Norman Infiniti (Charlotte): $1099 + $599 doc fee Charlotte Infiniti (Matthews): $956 + $500 doc fee Crossroads Infiniti (Raleigh (local): $583 + $399 doc fee Crossroads Infiniti clearly had the best deal. They are local, and I waited to deal with them last after I had worked best prices by phone with the other dealers. The local dealer quickly recognized that they needed to deal and gave me a great price on the first round. It helped that I was only 4 days from the end of the month, too. Since I purchased before the end of March, I received a $500 rebate off of the price listed above which put me very close to invoice before the doc fee. I was very willing to drive to Greensboro if Raleigh was unwilling to deal. I told them that I wanted $500 over invoice but wouldn't tell them the prices from the other dealers (they would just match it). They gave me a price which they said was $500 over invoice but was more like $583. The difference was so small I didn't want to argue. There could have been differences in the invoice prices anyway. One of the other dealers said there had been another price increase in March. In the end, it was close enough, and I was very happy. The G35 has been wonderful to drive. I look forward to my commute to work now.

Thanks for the info silica1! I got a call this evening from the salesman I had talked with and he said there were better deals in Feb. than in January on most of the models. He said he got to see them today. Since we hadn't talked numbers yet...I have no idea if this is true or just salesmanship...however I do plan on starting negotiations soon with them. Their lot is so small and inventory is piling up so hopefully they'll deal. If not, Greensboro, W-S, and Charlotte are all close enough for a weekend road trip, especially to save a fair amount of money. I'll let you know once I start negotiations how things go. Like you, I had not considered the car at all until I drove it. I really thought I'd just cross it off the list like several others, but I was really impressed.

I had a test drive last summer of a G35 sedan at Crossroads Infiniti in Raleigh. I found the salesman to be personable and not pushy. I wasn't quite ready to buy at the time so I have no idea how well they deal. I had been considering a Lexus IS250 but after the test drive, I took it out of consideration. The car is just too small (I'm 6' 2"). I plan to buy a sedan in the next couple months and the G35 is at the top of my list! I hadn't seriously considered the vehicle until I drove it. Please leave feedback with any experience you have with them. I'd like to know. I saw one positive feedback on this forum from a person who came from Virginia to buy a car at Crossroads and recommended them. I talked to one G35 owner at a gas station and he was pleased with Crossroads Infiniti, but I have no idea how much he paid. There are other Infiniti dealers in NC (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and 2 in the Charlotte area). I had also considered Virginia but they have front license plates and would rather not have a plate holder on the front when I don't need it. I hope you find a good deal and let us know.
Re: Lease numbers on G35 Sport through VPP [devius]

I don't know about the factors, but the way you have calcuated the cap cost isn't right, the dealer did it correctly, you should add $4,000 to the cap cost. If you want to calculate it like you did above, you should add the $12,000 as that is the payoff on your current car. So it would be: $36,800 (cap cost) - $8,000 (value of trade) = $28,800 + $12,000 (payoff) = $40,800 Think of it this way, if you weren't upside down, you would take the base price, subtract the value of the trade, and then add back the payoff amount of the loan to get your net. Hope that makes sense, I don't know if I explained it that well or not, but the dealer did calculate it correctly.
M35 Lease - Is this a good deal?
by oreinc on Fri Apr 20 15:46:21 PDT 2007
Was offered the following from one of the two area Inifiniti dealers in Charlotte, NC: Base M35 with a few options: MSRP $43348 vpp discount $3101.98 cap cost $40246 + 599 dealer doc fee = gross cap cost $40845 assuming 700+ beacon term 27 mos 12k miles yr money factor .00058 Residual $28149. Payment w/ sales tax 525.55 drive off $1245.55 includes 1st payment --$595.00 IFS acquis. fee-- $125.00 registration The vpp discount is supposedly something available because of where I work.. I inquired about a lower net cap cost, but the dealer is not biting yet. Are there better deals out there? Thanks, JT
