Bought 2008 G35x- Picking up Today!
by tcrandal on Thu Oct 18 11:01:56 PDT 2007
Had a great experience at Dorchel Infiniti in Rochester, they are honoring VPP pricing on the '08 and only added a very standard $99 wash/wax charge. MSRP: 41,025.00 (fully loaded) VPP: 38,001.68 (37,701.73 + 99.95 wash/wax) Unfortunately I live in NY, so I get hit with 8% tax. I live about 90 minutes away, but the local dealer near me is much smaller and wouldn't honor VPP pricing without adding a lot to it. I'd recommend Dorschel highly if you're near Rochester. I worked with David K.. I can't speak for the non-vpp experience (ie. haggling), but he was great to deal with!

I am guessing they are sticking it to you with the money factor. Do you know what is it?? Your payment should be close to $607 including tax and about $571 with taxes up front. This numbers are with CarMan MF of .00211 which is about 5.06% interest.

First Impressions: 2002 I35
by rawdad on Wed Mar 09 07:48:32 PST 2005
Well, I just bought a used 2002 I35. Paid 18,800 for it from Ramsey Infiniti in NJ - Dealers in Rochester, NY expect 21k+ for a similar one. Has 16000 miles, winter package, spoiler and a few other options. I have driven it about 600 miles so far and I have the following impressions. 1)Ride is much softer than I expected. I heard a lot of people on this forum and elsewhere say that the ride is too firm. Maybe because my last car was a 99 I30T with the firmer suspension, I am used to having a "rougher" ride. I actually prefer the tighter suspension. 2)The front seat room seems less than my 99 I30. I have the seat all the way back and it still seems cramped. I am 6"1" which isn't that tall. I feel sorry for somebody that is taller 3)The heated seats take quite a long time to warm up 4)Gas mileage has never been a complaint with me in my I30 and so far, it is averaging around 23 to 24 mpg - considering it has 55 hp more than my I30 which got about the same MPG, I have no complaints with the fuel consumption 5)The sunroof glass could use more tinting. Too bright with the sunshade open 6) Interior storage compartments and cupholders are EXCELLENT! 7) Faux wood grain is better than I thought it would be. I don't think it looks too fake and it does seem durable. 8) Acceleration is tremendous! My 99 I30 was fast - very fast - but the I35 is awesome! When you compare to a Lexus ES300, it blows the doors off it. Why the ES300 outsells the comparable infiniti models, I will never know. 9) Xenon's aren't that bright. Disappointing. Maybe I just expected it to be much better - actually, except from the color of the light, it doesn't illuminate the road any better. 10) Appearance: I still think it is one of the better looking cars on the road. For a sedan that can seat 5 (I have 3 kids) this is an awesome vehicle. Sporty, luxurious and yet practicle. I am not one of those minivan or SUV type people. I love a touring sedan but need the practicality of a larger car for hauling the family. This car does it all for me. That is my top 10. Comments appreciated. I am one very happy Infinit owner!
Prices in Western NY (Rochester)

97sunfire: Thanks for the Info. Autoplace Infinity in Buffalo said the same - no discount on the Coupe, but "a few hundred" on the Sedan. Said they can sell all the coups they get. I haven't gotten down to brass tacks, and don't know if I will .... but sounds like he's serious and that you did pretty good. Was yours no trade (or a fair trade price)? They quoted mine @ 4K below what I expect, but said that's "flexable". Wonder if $4K more is in the bounds of what they consider "flexable" Guess a Rochester trip for me isn't worthwhile! Enjoy that car .. definately a fun ride, but think I may wait until prices soften.
Prices in Western NY (Rochester)

Just bought my G35 Carribean Blue sedan at Dorschel in Rochester, NY The MSRP was $32,785 (Leather, Auto, Sunroof, Bose, Winter Pkg, and trunk mat). I got the car for the the Edmund's TMV price of $31,644 along with the molded splash guards thrown in for free. Thank goodness I checked the Edmund's site Friday night -- the prices were updated and now show Invoice price which was a huge bargaining chip. While Dorschel's willing to negotiate on Automatic sedans, their holding firm to MSRP on 6-speed sedans and all Coupes. I suspect Autoplace in Buffalo will do the same.
