However, this will likely show up again at trade-in time, and no matter how well it's been repaired, the used car manager is likely to know.   This is not a big problem for you if you plan to keep the vehicle at least until it's paid off. You will lose some value at resale, but you're also getting a discount up front. However, if you plan to sell before the loan is paid off, it may be one to avoid.   The best advice is to ask to take the vehicle to an independent mechanic and pay a few bucks to have it looked over by a pro.
