Some Do Get Better Deals

I'm in the market for a new G37x Sedan, so I have been reading this forum for the last couple of weeks. I too was surprised by the " deal" that Dealhunter5 told us about. But then I checked out the MA dealer (Herb Chalmers Infiniti) site, and they have 74 G37x Sedans. That's twice as many as in my entire state (MI) . With that many cars, so late in the model year, he may very well be selling below invoice less $2500. Me, I'm waiting until after 11/2 to see if Infiniti puts anymore money on the table for sedans. It seems like there are as many 2009 sedans as coupes out there, so I'm hoping infiniti will put out the same kind of money they have on the coupes. I'm guessing I won't do much better than invoice less any infiniti cash the dealer has to work with. I'm not willing to fly to MA even for a great deal!

Also Where are these add'l bonuses published. Do you know the get this money without a doubt? Are you stating facts? If you know for sure let us know so we can take advantage of your superior negotiating skills. Going to a dealer and saying" I know you get other bonus money because this dude on an edmunds blog said so " Isnt going to help him. It will just make him look foolish. Go ahead and tell the truth you probably paid about a grand more which would be invoice. I didnt buy an AWD that may be the difference. (wouldnt want one) There could be cash available to move any AWD since most buying this type of car wouldnt want AWD. I'm buying my next Infiniti in MA where the dealers are stupid. Of course if they sell them all at those prices dealhunter5 will have to get his service done on NY when his local dealer closes. snicker.

This will be my last post on this topic since I am pretty sure that no matter what I say you will not believe... There are other factors involved in new car purchases that go beyond invoice and published incentives. Dealers get other incentives that are not known to the public through sites like Edmunds. The car I bought yesterday had just been delivered and had not even been prepped. It still had all the plastic on it when I showed up in the morning yesterday, so I doubt it had been in an accident. Only 42 miles when I picked it up. The car came from their Boston lot which is about 32 miles away and all new cars come with 8-12 miles on them. As for your MA economy comment, I don't think it is that as much as it is the fact that there are over 185 G37X's in stock among the 6 or so dealerships in my immediate area (About 45 mile radius). Almost every dealer in the area has been offering 6K off MSRP for the past month. So getting an extra $700 off on a fully loaded model is not that far off especially if the dealer has some volume incentive number they are trying to get for the month. Their willingness to give up some of the holdback could also have been a factor. Littlejoe613, I am sorry you got such a crappy deal on the car you bought in whatever state you live in. If it makes you feel better to think I am lying instead of the truth that someone did their research and got a much better deal than you, that is fine. I would be totally bummed out if I were you too. You can also go back and look at some of my prior posts to see that I have been following this board for the past month or so. I am not even sure why I am wasting my Saturday responding to you but I feel like this may help the guy I responded to this morning who lives in the area and I have learned a lot from others in this forum. Like I said in my original post this morning, I am looking for someone with an Amex code to partner with and posted my email address. Now I am going to go for a ride in my new car. Thanks everyone for your help

I still think somethings up ....that means they lost $800-900 because you called them up on the phone. Maybe the economy in MA is so bad they just said "the heck with it lets just lose money at least we'll have a happy customer". It doesnt smell right. People post bragging about how great a deal they got when its BS. Last I checked car dealerships were a profit generating business not a charity. Sometimes I ve heard of deals like yours .... they involve a wreck or damage.

Littlejoe613, You can believe me or not but I just picked up a brand new 2009 4 Dr Blue Slate G37X with Nav, Premium, and Sport Packages yesterday (also had trunk mat and cargo net). Sticker price was $42330 and I paid $35600 +TTL with no trade in involved at all. That equates to $6730 off of MSRP. So please do not tell me I am full of it. I have the paper work and the car in hand to prove it. I am in MA and bought at Herb Chambers Infiniti in Westborough, MA. Did all the negotiation over the phone. They we great to deal with and never even pressured me to buy all of the add on crap like warranty and paint protection. Anyone local to the area should check them out.
$6000 off MSRP any Infiniti
by kennykingma on Sun Sep 27 16:57:53 PDT 2009
I live in the Boston area and went to Prime Infiniti in Norwood, MA. Sales Rep said any car on lot is $6,000 off. MSRP for G37X with Premium and Nav is $41,065 less $6K is 35,065. This sounds like a really good deal to me. Rep said offer good thru end of Sept (Wed). However if you take the $6K off, no special APR would apply. Not sure if I would have to finance thru Infiniti if I take the offer. However, sounds like I should seriously consider it. I thought I would be paying at least $38K. Any opinion? Go for it or try and get more off? Thanks!
