Buying a car from a Infiniti Car Dealer
I am looking for a current owner with a referral code to pair up with, that's $150 for you, and $500 for me. Please e-mail me at: amexg37@yahoo.com I just bought a new 2009 Infiniti G37 4dr Journey RWD (Blue Slate/Stone) with premium package, cargo net, and splash guards from Roswell Infiniti (Roswell, GA). Very good purchasing experience, after negotiating over the phone with the internet sales department. I believe it is a good deal. MSRP: $37,275 Price: $31,300 Doc: $499 +TTL
Yes! I got my EX for 4k under invoice. It just takes a lot of work deciding on what you must have and what you can do without, then communicating what you want and what you are willing to spend for it with a dealer. I studied up on it and there are so many hold backs, etc. One dealer I met said he was writing a book exposing the car dealership industry, and told me that they don't actually make the money on the car as much as on many other aspects of "the deal." So there is lots of room to negotiate, especially since they want to move these cars out with the '09s coming in, the the EXs have moved slowly due to a number of reasons. I found someone to make a deal with about 50 miles away, but was willing to go as they were willing to make the deal I wanted. They pretended to have my car, but didn't really, tried to sell me others, but I knew there was one out there with my specs, so I told them, they looked it up, and it was about 75 miles away. They got it for me. I did let go of color choices, so it is good to have at least two combinations in mind. I got the EX35 Journey with Premium, Tech, Nav, Wood, Rails & Bar, & Cargo Protector, Splash Guards $ 35,368. without TT&E. Platinum Silver w/ Stone/Maple Interior. The dealer suggestion at the Infiniti web site for this same car is $ 43,675. Originally I wanted the AWD, but made the decision that if I wanted this car I would only pay under 40k for it. Also, it is much heavier with AWD and uses more gas. The car is so powerful, unless you have to deal with snow, it is something that is easy to let go of. I also declined the Luxe Style as I thought the tires would be too clunky, and have since read complaints about the special road following headlights that come with that package. I paid cash back in May, but if I had been offered 0%, as they are today, I would have taken the deal that way and left my cash in the back, whatever meager interest it might bring. I love this car! Just got back form a RT trip from LA to San Francisco in it and it performed so beautifully! I would take this over the sedan any day as it is more sporty, fun and you have the option of carrying more stuff as the back seats go down, etc.
If leasing, TX law charges sales tax to the whole car and not just the payment as most states do. Normally, buying or leasing out of state is no problem - I have done it many, many times - but never a lease from Texas. You should not have to pay any TX sales tax on a purchase or lease since you reside and will title out of state, but just be careful if doing a lease. BTW, I would price out an open car haul from TX to WA and see how it looks. I have used McNutt auto transport several times and they are very nice prices. Compared to the stone chips, $4+ premium gas, and miles it may not be a bad deal. Dennis
As of yesterday morning, I am now a member of the G team.. I picked up my Infiniti G35 Journey sedan, Platinum Graphite, Stone interior, prem, nav, splash guards, and cargo net. Had a great buying experience at Nalley Infiniti, Marietta, Ga. Did all transactions via e-mail and received the following deal: MSRP $38,330 INVOICE $35,010 SELLING PRICE $34,000 WALK OUT PRICE $36,660 I'm pretty happy in getting this vehicle for $4,330 below MSRP. The only downside was that I had to wait three weeks for it to arrive from the holding lot at the Port of Jacksonville. Worth the wait: low miles,8, never been test driven, and not on a dealers lot for months. :D
Congratulations benbo enjoy your new purchase. I tried to get the QX without DVD but very hard to find. Felt DVD not worth the price. We have a stone interior which can get very dirty, I try to wipe it down on the weekends. Had to buy carpet mats as the 2nd and 3rd row seat carpets can get destroyed. I only drive the SUV on the weekends as this is the wife's vehicle. Current gas mileage about 11mpg, suspect it will improve as the engine breaks in.
