Re: G35x Lease [jlo913]

I don't think that is the dealer, around here almost every G has the splash/net/mat stuff in them and they are all port installed options and listed on the MSRP window sticker. My opinion there are two reasons: to make extra money for Infiniti by making us take these unwanted (but cheap to produce) options. A dealer ordered me a car w/o these options and they still installed them at the port and increased the invoice and MSRP to account for them. The second reason is so they can show the "final assembly point" on the window sticker to be Jacksonville, FL or wherever your port is. The car is Japanese and made completely in Japan, but by putting SOMETHING on every car at the port they can proclaim the "final assembly point" is in the US. I would think that a price of around invoice for the car, destination, and any dealer/doc fees would be a nice price. This is after the $500 customer cash is taken off (meaning the dealer is making $500 plus hold back). Anything you can get under invoice for the car/dest/fee just makes the deal sweeter. I would be surprised if you could actually drive off in a new G for $500 under invoice and that price included the fees and destination - but you never know until you try. Dennis
Looking For A Deal
by bondguy1 on Sun Mar 09 18:52:11 PDT 2008
Looking for a 2008 Infinity M35 or M45. Need 15K (maybe 18K/year). Looking to give dealer $1,000 check at start including first month, tax, tag and anything else they want to call it. Looking for the lowest lease price...maybe in low $600's/month. Any help appreciated. I live in the Ft. Lauderdale area. I don't mind traveling to get it (Naples, Jacksonville, etc or even in a nearby state).
G35 Deal Complete - Thanks Dennis

Just wanted to thank the forum members and especially Dennis for all the great help as I signed the papers today on my new G35. Found a January model pre MSRP increase, Black Obsidian w/Graphite interior, premium, navigation, sport, tech, spoiler and of course splash guards, trunk mat and cargo net. MSRP $41,025 Net Cap Cost $38,000 (w/dealer prep & bank fee) 36 month/15K miles MF .00178 (March rate) Residual 60%, $24,615 (March rate) Payment w/tax $514.67 (6.5%) MSD (5) $2,750 Adj. Payment $488 Cash at Signing $3,406.32 When I went to review the numbers the total cap cost showed $38,500 with a $500 cap cost reduction. Before I could make the comment about the numbers being wrong he showed me a section with a $500 rebate which brought my cash at signing back in line. The only difference was I had to pay 6.5% tax ($32.50) on the cap cost reduction. However, since he was able to use the March rates and I had agreed on a deal Friday using February numbers it dropped by adjusted payment to $488.00 versus $492.24. The net affect was a $120 savings over the life of the lease so I did not have an issue with the deal. The point of my long winded explanation is that there may be some support dollars out there from Infiniti to the dealers. Not sure but thought it was worth mentioning. Worked with Atlantic Infiniti in Jacksonville and they had the same vehicle available in Liquid Platinum just without the spoiler. Thanks again for all the help, now I just need to find the time to learn all the features on my new toy.

I understand you didn't invent the fax attack method, but you are a proponent of it. I used it 3 years ago when getting my wife a new Accord and it did nothing to help me. The dealers that deal low were the lowest, the other dealers would not touch the deal (down into holdback) that I already again. Again, a limited number of dealerships in the area limits the competition. Miami shows 6 dealers, Orlando or Tampa show 4, but Tallahassee and Jacksonville have just 1 each. So south FL is not too bad a place to shop, but north FL would look a lot tougher. You and I may be here trying to help folks and post honest prices, but you can't know that for everyone that posts here. In fact, I can only vouch for the veracity of the price that *I* paid in the forum :D . The point is - if you can get a price close to invoice for the car, destination, and dealer fee then you have a good price - for sure if you don't have to travel to get it. IF you do have enough dealers to compete for the deal then you may can get lower - but a lot of that depends on how many dealerships are around to compete and who owns them. Patience always serves a buyer well and waiting can often produce a better price - but if you find the current finance rate or lease rate to your liking the waiting could produce a lower price but higher financial numbers. Atlantic Infiniti in Jacksonville FL said I could get 500 over invoice, "let me write it up and I'll take it to my manager", This is what I mean by grinding the customer. I did not pursue it because they did not have exactly what I wanted, but I can just hear them saying they can't do that, we need at least X amount to do the deal.

The color I purchased was the Blue Slate which is the one I wanted and this happened to be on the lot(only 9 miles though) so Im sure that took a little off the price. Liquid platinum looks pretty sharp too. The doc fee was 450 on top of what I paid, but most people don't take that into consideration as this is universal so if you want to count it, I paid around 950 over invoice. No prep fee. The dealer is in Jacksonville, FL so the nearest competition is Orlando and Atlanta which means essentially no competition. The staff was the best I dealt with in my travels to buy a car though, knew everything about the car without having to look stuff up. After having the car for a week my thoughts are as follows. Not sure which features fall into which categories off the top of my head but here goes. Tech package-the rear camera is the best, the headlights that move before the car do are also pretty handy. The laser guided cruise sounds interesting but havent had the chance to test it in the real world. Blue tooth is the best and great quality(downside is my verizon phonebook cant be downloaded or accessed via voice. The compass in the rearview mirror is overkill and the garage buttons on the rearview I find to be bushleague (should have been integrated next to the sunroof button) Two words: memory seats! Premium sound pumps pretty loud. not sure entirely necessary as im not one of those guys who is super into stereos. Just for kicks the dial should go to eleven instead of ten. Nav is overrated and I find distracting. Maybe Ill get more out of it in the future. The voice activation though can be key if I can take the time to learn the exact commands as opposed to winging it. I like the music box feature a lot but the rear disc changer is inconveniently located and is just one large piece of luggage away from getting busted. Would love to have not gotten the NAV, kept the voice activation and music box and gotten Sirius over XM(I believe the NAV requires XM for the traffic feature) Love this car. Cant wait to drive to work tomorrow.
