Re: G35 lease [gosawx]
by mvs1 on Sat Aug 16 06:07:12 PDT 2008
For what it's worth, I leased an identical vehicle in Jan when the G35XS' were available, my lease is 15K miles as opposed to you're 18K, term is 36 months, my monthly payment is exactly $560 including CT's 6% sales tax, my up front was $1500. My deal came out to $150 under invoice at that time. No rebates I was aware of or can recall right now for the sedan. Just quickly comparing factoring in you're paying just first month and rolling inception fees into the lease you're about $1150-$1300 under invoice. I'm assuming the MF is roughly the same now as in Jan, and the two residuals are within $50. I felt at the time we leased ours it was a great deal, since no one was dealing on the XS model ....this to me is a great deal on this car. If the new G37 model does not sway your thinking I'd lease it and drive daily for the next three years

Oh we looked at the new Accord as well. We also own a 06' Civic EX w/nav as my commuter vehicle, rock solid vehicle, no issues with 60K on the OD. I had a 1993 Accord 5-speed I owned forever and couldn't kill., just sold it a month back, I was actually sad to see it go. When I sold it I swear I had $1.48 gas in the tank. Hondas/Acuras are great cars, but they're like driving a toaster everyday.

Most of not all the posters here including myself test drove all these vehicles. We picked up our G35XS in Jan and considered.. well, the TL, IS250awd, BMW 3er, Audi A4...EX, RDX, MDX, CRV, RX350...list goes on. It's the wife's car... we were really down to the G, IS, and EX. She just came out of an Audi A4 lease so a repeat wasn't going to happen and she hates BMWs. Anyway, the G does offer a nice package for the money, my only grip is the interior in not on par with Lexus and Audi. Other than that, this is a car I would have considered keeping after the three year term is up, but the G37 sedan and/or a rumored G37 coupe, AWD, hard top convertible will kill those dreams :P If you have the time to wait it out and are strongly considering the Acura, why not wait the a few months and get the new model TL?

This forum has been extremely information while looking for my G37. I have contacted about 5 Internet Sales managers in the Tri-state area (CT, NY, NJ) inquiring about a G37 journey coupe with no (maybe moonroof) additional packages. This is because i value my monthly payment more than most of the options in the Premium package. I have asked all the dealers about the base journey coupe and they all say that there is not one in all of the northeast. Should I continue to pressure them to find one? Can't one just be ordered? One dealer said it would cost the same to order one than what he was quoting me on the Journey + Premium because of the new invoice prices. I am also a VPP member and was recently quoted the following for a G37 journey + premium, wood trim. MSRP: $39,675.00 VPP Sale: $36,603.92 Residual (61%): $24,201.75 MF: 0.00192 36 mo/15k miles Out of pocket: $796.00 Monthly Payment: $539.00 Thanks!
Re: How will deal on 2008 compare with that on my 2006 M35x? [ghstudio]

If the ES came with AWD, I could consider it, but it does not. As per the Nav, I agree on the annoyance when you're not standing still, though I'd be reluctant to use any of the restaurant information since there's no way of knowing which ones are decent and which are greasy spoons. More useful to me will be the traffic information, which is still in its early stages, though likely to more helpful than the old news on the radio.
How will deal on 2008 compare with that on my 2006 M35x?

My current lease is up at the end of April. I have a 2006 M35x with an MSRP of 49,820. My monthly payment, including 6% tax, is $644. That's a 24-month lease with front money of $1200, including first payment. Since I'll have to start negotiations for the 2008 shortly, I'm wondering what the current money rates and residuals are for 24 and 36 month leases. I'd much prefer a 24 since I suspect that the M will probably be due for a major change shortly. Given the model's iffy gas mileage, one would think a six-speed transmission and/or higher final gear will be en route. In any case, I need the numbers before making a new deal.
