This forum has been extremely information while looking for my G37. I have contacted about 5 Internet Sales managers in the Tri-state area (CT, NY, NJ) inquiring about a G37 journey coupe with no (maybe moonroof) additional packages. This is because i value my monthly payment more than most of the options in the Premium package. I have asked all the dealers about the base journey coupe and they all say that there is not one in all of the northeast. Should I continue to pressure them to find one? Can't one just be ordered? One dealer said it would cost the same to order one than what he was quoting me on the Journey + Premium because of the new invoice prices. I am also a VPP member and was recently quoted the following for a G37 journey + premium, wood trim. MSRP: $39,675.00 VPP Sale: $36,603.92 Residual (61%): $24,201.75 MF: 0.00192 36 mo/15k miles Out of pocket: $796.00 Monthly Payment: $539.00 Thanks!
Re: How will deal on 2008 compare with that on my 2006 M35x? [ghstudio]

If the ES came with AWD, I could consider it, but it does not. As per the Nav, I agree on the annoyance when you're not standing still, though I'd be reluctant to use any of the restaurant information since there's no way of knowing which ones are decent and which are greasy spoons. More useful to me will be the traffic information, which is still in its early stages, though likely to more helpful than the old news on the radio.
How will deal on 2008 compare with that on my 2006 M35x?

My current lease is up at the end of April. I have a 2006 M35x with an MSRP of 49,820. My monthly payment, including 6% tax, is $644. That's a 24-month lease with front money of $1200, including first payment. Since I'll have to start negotiations for the 2008 shortly, I'm wondering what the current money rates and residuals are for 24 and 36 month leases. I'd much prefer a 24 since I suspect that the M will probably be due for a major change shortly. Given the model's iffy gas mileage, one would think a six-speed transmission and/or higher final gear will be en route. In any case, I need the numbers before making a new deal.

I just had a similar instance where I leased a G35XS and specifically stated that I would not accept a car with anything over 30 miles on it. When I went to pick the vehicle up it had 160-170 on it. I was not happy and they knew it. The sales person stated they swapped the car with a PA dealer and drove it to NY. Along with that, the car had a spoiler and had some (two) minor blemishes that my wife would not accept, they looked like pieces of the protective wrapper. They took care of that.....I was going to stand on the trunk and pull the spoiler off and save the $500 but I didn't want to embarrass my wife that day. :P The salesperson and manager knew we were not impressed. The wife and I huddled and we agreed to take the car. The lease mileage started at 200 or 300, and overall we like the car. After we left the dealer, we never talked about it, it truly is a non-issue. If you like the vehicle and it's what you want at a price you like then I agree the two oil changes are fair in return for the additional miles. The remote starter on vehicles with push button start are tricky, I owned an aftermarket electronics and accessories business and unless this is covered under warranty I'd stay away from it. They may be doing you a favor by pricing it at a point where you do not see the value. Mike
