Buying a car from a Infiniti Car Dealer
I dealt with Pinnacle as well. They did not give me a good price, instead I got lots of run around. I ended up ordering my car from Infinity of Supersition Springs (Mesa, AZ). I got a G35 Journey with Premium, Navi, Wood, Performance Wheels/Tires and C. Net for invoice. I don't live in AZ, but even with shipping and a somewhat exorbitant doc fee ($399), this was better then what I could do locally. I ended up ordering because I wanted a specific package/color combination. The staff at Superstition Springs was very professional and above board (being of suspicious mind after dealing with several dealers I checked up on everything they told me). I concluded the deal via phone and email, without ever setting foot in the dealership. While I am still waiting on the car and there is always the possibility for things to go sideways, so far Superstition Springs guys have been great.
Randy, I worked with Infiniti Superstition Springs. They are in Mesa, AZ. They contacted me after I sent a request for quotes from Edmunds.com (I heard from the sales manager and then from one of the sales people - John). I ended up ordering the car from them and having it shipped to NM. The other dealers did not seem as willing to work on the price and some refused to fax or email me written offers. I wouldn't trust anything verbal - get it in writing, including the vehicle VIN. Some just never got back to me. I contacted Infiniti of Superstition Springs, Infiniti of Scottsdale, Pinnacle Infiniti and Infiniti of Peoria.
Always get it in writing, signed. You could have had one of these crooks print out what they told you on the phone, sign it & FAX it to you. Odds are they wouldn't have done it, but at least you'd have saved all the additional hassle & could have done the deal on the second choice car at the first dealer. Verbal agreements are worth squat. Written ones are a contract.
Partly it'll depend on how long you plan to keep it. The resale value of the newer car will be considerably higher for the next 3-6 years. If you're planning to drive it in excess of 100K miles, that year won't matter much. OTOH, if you're looking at 2-4 years/40-50K miles, the new one wouldn't be a bad plan.
There's probably good information in your post, but I read lots of threads -- I normally skip one like yours. Use paragraphs. They imply (possibly falsely) that you have a well-thought-out position to discuss, point by point. Remember that those of us in North America have (very) short attention spans. Plus which, everyone has a need to ingest information in useable bits. Phone numbers, credit card numbers & all other numbers had better be in 3- or 4-digit groups, or they become hopeless to work with, as you may have noticed.
