Normally "out the door" prices include the car, destination, dealer fee, title, tags, and all taxes. If you are offer $40,000 and then have to pay the taxes too, then that is a horrible deal. I did a quick look and I don't see what the auto sales tax is on B'ham on a new car, but the guy I talked to would do a $39,925 MSRP sedan for $37,534 . So your price would be $37,534 then pay the AL taxes, title fee (looks like $12.75) and tags when you register and title the car back home. So if you know what the tax rate is, then just add that to the $37,534 and that would be about your total cost. So if it is 5% then it would be $39410.70 plus the tag and title fees at your local DMV. If you are buying out of state it is doubtful the dealer will actual do your title work, unless perhaps they are a dealer near the state line and do this a lot. If they are not going to handle it, then no need to pay them the fee. An out of state dealer tried to charge me this - to be honest they get used to sticking that fee on all their dealers. When I pointed out to them they they would be sending ME the MSO and paperwork to take to the DMV they took the charge off. Dennis

I have contacts at all three, but you should be able to get a decent deal by going through the "Internet" department via their web pages. I think there was another GA dealer I talked to at one time that seemed to want to deal. Another dealer in AL was very helpful as well, but did not have a car available like I wanted. I have that info someplace buried in some notes :D . Dennis

Pre-pay lease program?: by jsarrett on Mon May 21 07:51:17 PDT 2007; I have a G35x on order. No money down lease. I hate putting cash down on a lease, but dealer claims that infinity has some special program where you prepay up to 9 months and the money is not a cap cost reduction. (In other words if car is stolen you get the money back) Infinity then gives you money at the end of the lease for the prepayemt. He claims is like a 10+% return. I have not seen any paperwork on this, but was wondering if anyone else has heard of it?
