Returning to lease G37x in Maryland by mitcharno on Sun Jul 24 09:54:00 PDT 2011

hi Car_man, et al! I used this forum 3 yrs ago when leasing my g35x in Maryland and it was a tremendous help so thanks for that! This time around, I will once again post the 'deal' I get & stick around to help other members. Lease is coming up this week (nothing like waiting until the last min) and I'd like to lease the g37x. I have some of the info and would appreciate u and other members input & confirmation on these numbs. I'll come back one more time with the rest of the numbers so that I can do this deal. I wanted to get your input before negotiating price, Premium Pkge, Interior Accents Pkge, etc Other quick questions: - Generally speaking, do you recommend a 36 or 39 month lease? - Dealer said NOT to get car inspected by Infiniti before turning it in, that there's a tax advantage to me if they buy it outright or something like this. Car's in great shape. Does this make sense to you? - Is bank/acquisition fee set by IFS? - Dealer says there is a difference in TMV for lease & buy- is this true? Can you guys confirm + let me know if these numbers R valid & any good: Term: 39 months MF: .00075 (top tier credit)-> from Car_man, dealer quoted higher Residual value: 56% -> from Car_man, dealer quoted higher Allowable miles/yr- 12,000. Bank/acquisition fee- $700. Doc fee- $200. Owner loyalty- $1,000. Title- $50. (tags transfer over) Tax- 6% Destination fee $895. Thanks! Mitch

Re: Lease End: Buyout? [leon_0905] by delta737h on Sun Jun 19 14:08:54 PDT 2011

leon, You're absolutely right! Never put money down on a vehicle as it's a depreciating asset. Another reason is that if the car is stolen or totaled, you may lose all or part of the down payment as GAP covers only the amount by which the lease balance exceeds the actual cash value of the vehicle. So, it's best to stick the equity in your pocket. There are a some states (e.g., AL, Ill, NV, MD, TX, VA) that tax the full selling price. But, you have to remember that every leased vehicle is a sold vehicle. And, yes, if you lease and then exercise your buy option, you will be taxed on the outstanding lease balance (residual... for full term leases) plus the purchase option fee, if any. Most states, if not all, consider the front end lease transaction and the back end purchase transaction as two seperate and distinct transactions. Accordingly, tax is levied on both transactions. Yes, you can negotiate a trade with the original dealer. In fact, you can negotiate a trade with any dealer. Hope this helps. John TheAutoLeaseGeek

Re: Advertised lease specials & dealer cash [Car_man] by acr123 on Mon Dec 13 09:02:34 PST 2010

Car_Man Thanks for the info. If there is a standard 36 mo lease price given for 15K miles is an addition of mileasge to say 20K in a lease adjusted by adding say .10 per mile ( 15,000 /.10 x 36 ) equallying 41.67 per month added to the prior price only or is the resudual also adjusted down. Conversely, is just the residual adjusted down to account for the increased mileage. Thanks again, Al

Re: Infiniti G25 Prices Paid and Buying Experience [kyfdx] by fjs717 on Fri Oct 22 08:11:07 PDT 2010

I have been searching (local & internet) for a G25 for my wife. We live in Huntsville, AL and test drove a base model at the local dealership yesterday. We both liked how the car drove and handled. The local dealership is not a high volume dealer. Their offer was $29,887 plus tag, title & tax for a base model (they only had one in stock). The only option was wheel locks ($199 I think). Total sticker was $32,024. We are only about 175 miles from Atlanta where they have quite a few high volume Infiniti dealerships. I have received internet pricing quotes for a G25 base model from two dealerships in ATL ... $27,888 plus tag, title, tax and $27,878 plus tag, title, tax. My local dealer essentially said there was no way the G25 could be sold at those prices. TrueCar.com has the Dealer Cost of a G25 Base Model at $28,864(that includes the $875 destination charge) so am I missing something here? Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks very much.
