3-star Review

by dkell50 on 01/11/2021

Sale of vehicle went fine. Had problem with vehicle 6 days after purchase and dealership completely abandoned it's customer. Salesman Joe Mendez went above and beyond to help remedy the situation which Circle GMC and GM completely left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Spent over $50,000 on a new GMC just to have to spend more money to fix an obvious defect. Shameful customer service on the dealerships part.

THEY LEFT ME STRANDED

by Honey_Bear314 on 05/10/2018

This place is a complete joke. THE OWNER NEEDS TO FIRE EVERYONE AND START OVER BEFORE YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS. I seen a car online with this dealership. I should have known from the start from dealing with Amber Alexander that this was going to be a nightmare. I submitted a offer to purchase the car because you have to have a starting point to negotiate on your purchase. AMBERS FIRST RESPONSE WAS I'M NOT TAKING THAT TO THEM. IT WAS 1500 LESS THAN THE ASKING PRICE. I ask would she submit it and see what they would counter back with. Needless to say I didn't hear back from her. I requested to speak with the manager on duty but because I was traveling I requested him to speak with my husband, James called back just as ignorant and rude, Screaming IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I TALK TO YOUR HUSBAND OR NOT IT WONT CHANGE WHAT I DECIDE!! WHAT ARE YOU SERIOUS?? I tried to explain my tax waiver he just kept on being loud and screaming. So I called back asking could I put a deposit down on the car? Gave her my company card information. Called back several times to see if the deposit was complete because I didn't see it pending on my bank account and these idiots Brooke and Amber said they didn't process it because the card needs to be in my name. Hmmm if you would have ran it the receipt would have printed my name. So the next day I called for Amber again she would never return my call so I emailed her and she replied back not to worry about the deposit she would see me when I came into the dealership and we would take care of everything there I just had to be there by 2pm. But I wasn't comfortable with that so I called the dealership 4 to 5 times on 5/4 trying to pay the deposit but no one would take it. I caught a 6am flight from STL to Chicago drove 1 hour to the dealer location on 5/5/18 and got to the dealership at 8:45am. Went to grab some breakfast and was back by 9:15am. I met with Bryan Druktenis who took me on a test drive. I asked to meet Amber because that who I had been talking to on the phone, she frowned her face up and displayed her body language like she didn't want to be bothered. After my test drive I decided and communicated to Bryan I wanted to purchase the car. In fact I left some of my personal items in the car because I was going to drive the car back to St. Louis. I was asked by Bryan was I told the out the door price and I stated "NO". Because I live in Missouri I had a sales taxes waiver. I talked to Amber about the waiver before I came all the way to Indy to make sure it would be no issue I even emailed a copy. Again THAT WAS A LIE. The out the door price included Missouri sales tax. Per Bryan Indiana would not take that. I asked him was the BMV open so I could ask them how to handle it and put them on the phone with Missouri. Bryan said they were closed on a Saturday. THAT WAS A LIE TOO. THE ONE 7 MILES AWAY WAS OPEN. So we agreed for me to go to the BMV and find out. The 2 states talked on the phone and figured it out. As I started to call the dealership they were calling me stating THAT THEY SOLD THE CAR 40 MINUTES AGO BUT I HAD ONLY BEEN GONE 30 MINS. BRYAN STATED I SHOULD HAVE LEFT A DEPOSIT!!!??? LIKE I HAD NOT TRY TO DO THAT FOR 2 DAYS. NEEDLESS TO SAY MY PERSONAL PROPERTY WAS GONE AND I WAS LEFT STRANDED IN INDIANA AND I HAVE CASH TO PURCHASE THE CAR. I spent 300 on a flight and they didn't offer me anything on my travel expense they cost me. SEE EMAIL To clarify for you. We cannot use the credit card provided because the name on the card does not match that of the person purchasing the vehicle. It is simply for the protection of all of our clients that we treat every form of check or credit payment this way. In terms of final payment at time of delivery we ask that this be made in cash, and not with Certified Funds, Cashiers Checks, Money Orders, Third Party Checks, or Personal Checks. What time will you be arriving so we can have the Lacrosse cleaned up and ready to present to you? Sincerely, James Davis Finance Manager Circle Buick GMC, Inc. <br>

Car shopping made easy

by Charmekia20 on 08/17/2016

Kathy Woods made my car buying experience a breeze. She was professional, polite, and expeditious in her work. My past experiences with car buying at other dealerships have been challenging, but this one certainly made up for the rest. The finance manager is the best I've ever met! Dustin wants to insure that you're happy with your purchase. Circle Buick GMC have shown me a whole new level of car buying and will be there for my vehicle with their outstanding 60 day customer follow-up appointment and 3 year maintenance plan. I will definitely recommend you guys to everyone I know looking to buy a vehicle and thank you all so much for all your efforts to insure my happiness with my purchase, you guys are rock stars!

Go here if you think oil in your engine is over rated

by ees1216 on 06/18/2015

I took my 15 Sierra 1500 with slightly over 13k miles in to have a regular oil change that came with the purchase of the vehicle. I also requested that they check the transmission because it seemed to be slipping. Two weeks and an overhauled transmission later I pick up my truck after working a twelve hour shift at another automotive repair facility and start off towards home. I didn't even make it past the Grant St Exit on I 80/94 before I notice smoke billowing out of the back of my truck to the point that people are avoiding the left lane. I proceed to pull to the side of the expressway and eight then it tells me to shut off the engine because there is no oil pressure. I get out to find the entire undercarriage covered in oil. At this time the service department was closed so they couldn't look at my truck that night. The one good thing I will say is that Brandon had already set up a loaner vehicle so that I had a means of transportation. Fast forward to the next morning; I arrive to see that my truck is in the same location that the tow truck had left it. I enter and ask if they had any information to which they say they will know momentarily because they are working on it as we speak (lie because I saw my truck outside). I asked if I could see the truck; I was told it was against policy (lie because I've been in their service area before). I asked to speak with the service manager and I waited for another fifteen minutes before he came to the front. I asked what the cause was and he stated that it was a faulty gasket. Being a service manager myself and having had dealt with similar situations my self I felt this was highly improbable. He continued to tell me that they would fill the engine with oil and that all would be alright. I informed home that my expectation was that they would replace the engine because I have a well founded concern with future failure of internal components of the engine, I was told that wasn't going to happen. When I asked who else I could speak to, the service manager said that I would get no further than him. I proceeded to call GM who were no help on this matter either. I asked if they would extend the warranty on the engine alone to ease my concern and was denied. The final attempt that I made was to propose a trade on the vehicle where they would help in some way, again I was disappointed. The reason being because I would be rolling negative equity into the new purchase, meaning they would give me no break on the price for the issue. Bottom line, my vehicle was damaged, I was placed in a dangerous situation on the side of the road, I was significantly inconvenienced having had to leave work early and going in late the next day, and NO OFFER OF ANY KIND WAS EVER EXTENDED TO ME IN ANYWAY TO COMPENSATE ME. I do not plan on returning to this establishment for any future purchases or service and I would advise any person reading this to avoid this dealership at all cost. My experience has taught me that though you may have purchased two new vehicles and traded in two vehicles in a twelve month span of time, there is no valuing the customer; only counting the suckers.

Easy to deal with

by Dillion1632 on 01/23/2015

After finding out that some dealers do not honor their online prices, we went to Circle and showed them our printed out online price on their terrain. They said yes and we bought the terrain in 20 minutes. It was the first easy car buying experience we have had

Circle Buick Crashed My New Vehicle

by tils on 01/24/2013

Purchased a car at Circle Buick. By the time we left it was raining and dark. Upon review the next day some minor scratches were seen. The dealer said they would take care of it. The car was brought back for them to work on the scratches and the only thing they did was run the buffer over it briefly. This was a D level effort and we were not taken seriously. We were called back to pick up the plate/registration. The dealership did not give us all of the paperwork. Upon asking them they told us we should have known to talk with additional personnel there to get everything which we were never told. As we had to make another trip back for the paperwork we asked for the scratches to be worked on again. At this time they backed our new vehicle into a pole. They said they would fix it and told us to leave and that they would contact us. We were promised a completely new vehicle with 100% no defects. What we got was a repaired vehicle that was far from perfect and none of the scratches were repaired. Throughout this process I tried several times to get a hold of the general manager (Wayne D.) to discuss the issues. I was told every single time that he was unavailable. As I continued to express my disappointment with the various sales managers the general manager got on the phone after I was told he was not there and started screaming at me. I have never met him or talked with him and the first conversation started with him berating me, calling me a lair, and promising me that if they ever saw my vehicle there again it would be the "last time." He continued to go on and say that as long as he was at the dealership we would never get a new car after they wrecked ours. I filed a complaint with General Motors district office and spent the next two weeks dealing with them. After another several hours on the phone with the district reps I was told that there is nothing they can do because the dealership is independently owned and operated (which every dealership is). General Motors states they strive for customer satisfaction but when I questioned how they do that no one from the district could offer up examples. The district office treated me the same as the dealership did. If GM has no influence over dealerships that take advantage of customers how can they ensure customer satisfaction? It seems like General Motors as a whole does not care for satisfaction and let the dealerships take advantage of anyone they want. In addition the only thing I was offered from the dealership was gas cards for reimbursement for the multiple trips there. After we got the car back and they refused to address the deficiencies in the repair they then told me that they did "promise" to give me those so I would not be receiving them. I would not recommend this dealership or General Motors at all. This is by far the worst experience of my life. I paid for a new car and I got a repaired vehicle with 1000 miles that I did not put on for my own personal use. The district offers no support and General Motors has no system in place to protect customers.

Beware of Scam and Poor Service

by zeichen on 05/19/2011

Beware of Circle and their service department. I had a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with a 3.8 liter V-6. I brought it in for a oil change. After the oil change I was told it was time for the 60,000 mile service and also I had a small oil leak that could be fixed with a new gasket. I then left my car overnight and picked it up the next day. That next on the way home from work the engine blew. I brought it back to Circle and they rebuilt it under my extended warranty. Then the next day on my way home from work the engine blew again. I brought it back again to Circle, but this time without my permission they put a junk yard motor in instead of rebuilding my well kept 3.8 liter. I used Shell 89 or 93 octane and Mobile 1 oil from the time I bought the car brand new from Petersen Pontiac in Valpo till this service at Circle. So I asked why they did not rebuild the motor again? The gentleman in the service department stated the extended warranty company would not pay for another rebuild. So I took his word and did not call the extended warranty company to check if that was true. That phone call, if I would have made it would have caught them in a lie. Well I was upset about the motor and that I just wasted $400.00 for the 60,000 mile service and oil change that I didn't even get to use. I later went and traded the 2002 in for a 2006 Grand Prix GXP, which was a bigger mistake. Anyway a year later I received a phone call from the extended warranty company about extending the warranty on the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT again. I told them I traded it in, but then I ask the person on the phone about their policy on rebuilding blown motors and replacing them with junk yard motors. The extended warranty person stated that they never pay for junk yard motors and always pay to have the engine rebuilt, which cost more to do so. So they bought a cheaper motor and kept the rest of the money as profit. Well played Circle, also I bought my next Pontiac Grand Prix $2,000 cheaper at another dealer, from what Circle wanted. Again, buying another General Motors product was a big mistake. I'm sticking to American built Hondas, yes my Honda was built in Alabama, U.S.A.. I have had no problems with the last two I bought or the Honda dealerships who serviced them. Your loss Circle and General Motors, when I buy or lease a new car every 3 to 5 years.

Customer for Life!

by osu2001 on 06/02/2010

I just left in my 2010 GMC Terrain and have NOTHING but great things to say about this dealership. The sales staff was kind, professional, and helped me to find the car I wanted (not just a car that is on their lot). After spending 3 hours at [another dealership] in Merrillville where the salesman kept trying to push me in a car I didn't want, Circle made my experience the best one to date. All the managers were extremely welcoming and THANKED me for my purchase. Circle has gained a customer for life. I would strongly recommend this dealership.

we were "a waste of time..."

by cargirl1989 on 04/06/2010

I would not go back to circle if I had to. Although they do offer a warranty on their cars they have high uncompetitive prices and waste your time doing "fake" bargaining with their higher ups. Then blame the "time wasting" on you, their customer, when you end up turning down their high prices and unmoving offers. No info was really given to us. We had questions they didn't have answers, just a "were working on that, but tell me if you're taking the car attitude." The place looks like it should want to make some sales, they are empty of cars and customers. The salesman we delt with was unprofessional and in the end very disrespectful. Customer service is nonexistent at circle. Had I not introduced myself I don't know if he would have known my name until we did some kind of paperwork. After visiting many dealers this was by far one of our worst experiences. We did not buy the car that we went to see needless to say. Customer appreciation/service is not of importance here and that Is too bad. Bad treatment of customers whether they buy the car or not is just poor business professionalism. NO clientele, no money, no business. Bye bye dealer. Don't worry, this unsatisfied "customer" won't be back to "waste your time" again, circle Buick pontiac. Or better said, I won't waste my time at your place of "business" EVER again..

Buyer Beware

by sirknight2 on 01/11/2010

If you could avoid purchasing a car from Circle Pontiac GMC it'll be in your best interest. Their treatment of potential buyers is the worse I've ever experienced. African-Americans BEWARE! Let's start with the internet information experience, the young lady they have overseeing that part is extremely inexperienced and uninformational, I believe her name is Morgan Hankins. Once you do get past her and find out some things about the car you want to purchase you will have to deal with Ron Westerfield (Sales Representative) possibly. If you get ANY straightforward information and I do mean ANY, it will not only be a miracle but probably a sign from GOD. This man does not answer a question truthfully if his life depended on it. They do not inform you of anything that's taking place you'll just left out in the cold trying to piece things together. They specialize in bait and switch in which I'm sure is completely illegal. I will not never purchase or attempt to purchase anything from them ever again.
