stereotypical car dealer but much more extreme

I wanted a rare car and have been looking for months. When i saw a new one pop up at this location i asked if the price included everything and honda certification as it was 6 months used. I was told yes it is. I drove 40 min and when i liked the car we talked finance. the first thing the sales manager does it pull up the price i saw, adding $3K in accessories and $1.5K for honda certification. I told them to remove some of the accessories. They used typical car salesmen pressure tactics and i agreed to pay $2K more than my walk away amount. but at least we had a solid number. When i am filling out the finance paperwork i notice it is $4K more than agreed. the finance officer said it was because they were "required" to charge for the 10 year extended warranty. after threatening to walk out they reduced it to $2.4K. then i started putting on my coat. finally the waived it. i was supposed to get a $12.5K cash check back for my trade in. they charged me $155 because title was still in Honda's name. no where in my entire paperwork does it say they will charge for that. but they took it anyway. they told me they would get me the best loan. they got me 5%... i am assuming because they get points. So i am refinancing, already approved for 2.75%. I am hoping if i refinance immediately, it will cancel their commission.

A classic bait and switch dealer!!

Talked to Chris who sent me a really good price on a new Honda Passport EX-L, approximately $34,740. When we got there we talked to a different salesperson, Denis who had a different car pulled up front to test drive. After the test drive they gave us numbers with full MSRP and 3k worth of dealer installed (non manufacture) options for a price of about 42k before taxes and fees. We showed them the price that we came in for. The email said the price was locked for 72 hours. The sales manager said that they could not honor it because it was a mistake even though we had a stock number for the car with a very clearly labeled price. Another dealer warned us this would happen at Schaumberg Honda. 1/10, do not recommend this dealer, they'll rob you blind and smile at you while doing it.

Negotiate a price over email, and then they won't honor it.

I was working with Erika for pricing for a 2020 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback. She offered the car for $19,699 + tax, title, doc... I confirmed the car and price with their internet sales manager. I thinking that this will be nice, we have a confirmed price and I can just go in and see the car, complete paperwork and be done. Boy was I wrong. I get into the dealership and Erika and Jon were not there. I worked with a new sales person who was really nice, and just started there. I told him what car I was there for and the price I was given, and showed him the email chain I had. He goes to the sales manager to discuss filling out the paperwork, and he comes back with a price of 28K plus, out the door. I'm floored, how does $19,699 become 28K OTD. He said his manager said they only have 4 of those cars, and blah blah blah and wanted to charge me MSRP + Dealer fees that were higher that what was quoted. After some back and forth, the sales manager comes in, and offers a final price of over 26K OTD, Which was still almost 5K over what it should have cost me based on based on the email I had. He goes on to say he's not sure why that price was quoted to me, it was a mistake and blah, blah, blah. I showed him that I confirmed the car and price over email more that once, and the internet manager confirmed everything, and now he was just playing games. DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP, OR THE PRICES THEY GIVE YOU OVER EMAIL OR PHONE. YOU WILL BE SORRY. I drove to the 30 minutes there, wasted over an hour and a half, and 30 minutes back. Go to a more reputable dealer who will honor their word, definitely NOT Schaumburg Honda

Bought several cars over the years with no problems

I have bough several Honda vehicles from Schaumburg Honda working with Fred Shams who is one of the most experienced sales person at the dealership. Very honest, friendly and cooperative person to work with and I am very happy with the customer service Fred has provided. Very impressive!!! Highly recommend Fred for NEW and USED car purchase id someone looking for getting a great vehicle for you and your family.

Unprofessional Dealership

I bought Honda Pilot from Rohrman auto group back in mid Novemeber.Everything went fine on the day of buying the car but since I was from out of state I had to do the car registration on my own. I was told within 7-10 days I would receive all the paperwork in mail to take care of that however it has been more than 1.5 months and I have not received anything from the dealership. The temporary license plate they provided has also expired and they are not willing to renew it. I called the dealership for almost 2 weeks everyday before they told me that they have damaged the title and have requested a new title from the state of Illinois. They also said it usually takes 2 weeks for that to come. It has been 3 weeks since then and they still don't have the title. All my happiness for my new car has been completly ruined by the dealership. I would highly recommend to avoid this dealership since they are big cheats. No matter how many times you call the dealership you cannot get hold of anyone. It is extemely frustrating for me as I am out of state so I can't even go to the dealership. At this point I'm totaly out of ideas to help myself.

I would NOT reccomend this place !

Very disappointing experience! Our salesperson was very busy with another customers and was going forth and back while other employees were standing in a group and having a great time. It took almost a 3 hours to purchase a car. Tried to talk to one of the managers Danny Faul but without any luck. Had a feeling that this place is not too friendly towards women. They let us go with an empty tank!!! I would NOT recomend that place!

There is a clear benefit to purchasing from Schaumburg Honda. Being one of the largest Honda dealerships in the area they have an advantage of a competitive price but also experienced sales staff. I purchased a 19 CR-V from Daniel Byun who is one of the most helpful salesman there. Daniel always remained in contact with me yet was never pushy. He was genuinely interested in my goals for a lower monthly payment and went above and beyond for me to get to my target. This deal involved Daniel’s manager as well as the dealership’s general manager who all showed the same interest in reaching the target as well. After going to every Honda dealership in the area, it’s clear that Daniel Byun at Schaumburg Honda was the best choice.

Good Luck getting a Human and not a voicemail

All I needed was a method to cancel my extended warranty and get my refund after I paid off my car. You would think I was trying to work with a 2 person office instead of a huge dealership. I was continually transferred to Finance with members of the team that had full voicemailboxes. I even tried to reason with the receptionist and ask for them to find a human being. Amazingly they didn't care. Just would transfer me to the same person in Finance. One of two people. One had a voicemail box and I left a message or two, and one who had a full mailbox. I finally get a hold of a human (MIRACLE) and she tells me what I needed to do. Great! She said she would send me the form via email and I could scan the form and my payoff letter and email it back. GREAT! Except the email never came with the form. Now I am back to customer service hell trying to get a human to help me. If there wasn't like three years left on the extended warranty I would say screw it. I thought I would try it through chat - hell nothing to lose right? Well what I got from her is my contact information passed on to a manager. Then when she had taken care of that she was ready to get off the chat and move on. Overall this experience has made me realize I will not be buying from Schaumburg Auto again. If they cannot respect and help customers with such a small request, why should I ever shop with them again.

Nice sales tactics of being lied to!

I’m currently on my third vehicle from schaumburg Honda, two leases and one finance. I unfortunately am almost at my 36k for my 2017 Honda Civic with 13 months to go. I called your dealership on Saturday asking if there would be anything one could do to get us out of the lease and into a new lease whether it was a civic, crv, accord as long as the monthly payment was around the same of 269.00 a month. Daniel in sales said he spoke to his manager and that yes they would get me into a civic at 269 or possibly less. I specifically asked to be 100% sure because I live 20 miles away and only have limited mileage (500 left) so as not to waste my time and mileage. Needless to say I get there and completely different story. 379 is the lowest offer, and all I got was “we are sorry”. Simply Ridiculous, I will be taking my business elsewhere at the end of this lease, I would rather be told I’m sorry we cannot help at this time then be lied to.

Buyer Beware

I do not recommend going here for a new car I bought my 2019 Honda fit lx, the most BASIC model which retailed at $17,000 and after many hours of discussion and confusion I ended owing Honda $30,000 for this extremely basic car! Guys they didn't even give me floor mats for my car. I said I can really only pay around $300-330 a month and my sales person Dany just kept saying ok ok ok not listening. I kept asking for the used 2016 Honda fit with 38,000 miles on it and he kept saying no it's going to only be $40 cheaper you'll be paying the same price as this new car. Now I'm stuck paying $424 dollars a month on this car and $150 on the insurance. I'm going to have to pay $600 a month for 6 years on this car that's not worth it. When I spoke to the Manager he basically told me to suck it up and find other car insurance. They don't care about their customers they only care about ripping people off. Especially people they see as vunerable or young like myself who is a young college student who really needed a car. I highly recommend to come in with knowledgeable people who are not easily pressured because these sales people WILL make you feel as though you have to do what they are telling you. I highly recommend not to purchase the car at that time, go home before you make the purchase and do lots and lots of reaserch, or else you will be in a tough position where I am and I honestly feel so hopeless and I just hope no one else has to go through the hell that I am currently experiencing.

Called and asked about a vehicle posted online. My phone number is from out of state , so the gentleman automatically started assuming things. Seemed frustrated as I asked questions about the vehicle maybe because it was later in the day. But I had a terrible experience. So maybe thats not the norm but this day was bad. We all go through it but this was bad. I really wanted the vehicle too, I have been looking for this particular vehicle for about a year and the salesman had no clue what I was willing to do to pick it up. But oh well I waited this long I'm sure another will come along..

I came back to Schaumburg Honda specifically to deal with John Bucher. I came in a month ago to test drive the CR-V and inquire about pricing, he let me know all the information I needed without any pressure. I made my decision and was able to text him saying I was coming in to buy and he had everything ready and waiting for me. He made the process so easy and exciting. This is the first car I bought on my own and I couldn’t have asked for better service. Financing with Alan (I believe is who I dealt with) was also a pleasure. He was so friendly and talked me through every step of the finance process.

Scam and dishonest

Purchased a car from Schaumburg Honda about 6 months ago and yesterday wanted to trade the car in at a closer dealership.So the salesman told me that they can only offer me $11000 for the car cause the car was in 3 accidents I told them I didn’t know that.So I called and emailed the dealership that I bought it from which was Schaumburg Honda no reply I ended up going up there I told them the situation and they said I signed the paper for the car fax which I did but when I signed it was only 2 pages the one they showed me today had 4 pages 2 of the pages that showed the accidents .Im not stupid and I know better to buy a car with a bad car fax report and why would they sell me a car with a bad car fax for retail price of a car with no accidents.They wouldn’t do anything for me or admit fault.I was never told the car had 3 accidents.Sold me a car with a bad car fax at price of a car with a good car fax

Wheel falling of a moving Car in 75miles and 7 days of purchase

Bought a used ML350 with 66 k miles and a full service package for 6 yrs bumper to bumper warranty. Driving the car for 75 miles and for 7 days only, the whole wheel came out from the moving car and fell off. Fortunately it happed while I was driving into my driveway, and was safe. All this was recorded in my home CCTV camera while it happened. Car finally returned after 7 days of repair, without giving the list of damage and the repair done on it Very poor quality of inspection standard.

Low pressure. A lot of info on the 2 cars we looked at. Salesmen (we had 2) seemed to listen to us and take our needs into consideration. The 2nd one checked with the 1st to make sure it was ok he spoke to us. I appreciated that level of respect and consideration.

She made me feel comfortable throughout the whole experience, which was much appreciated as this was my first car purchase EVER!
