Thankfully I am able to update/upgrade my review of Bob Lindsey Acura to 4 stars and change my service recommendation from "no" to "yes". The "dent guy" was able to repair my fender to look new. Time will tell if the repair & paint will hold up during future extreme temperature fluctuations, but for now the fender looks like new. This ordeal cost me two additional 60 mile trips to the dealer otherwise I would have given the dealership 5 stars. The service manager accepted responsibility for the damage, did the best he could to correct the dealership error, and lessened my inconvence by providing a loaner.
Original Review - I took my "RL" to Bob Lindsay Acura for service work related to a master cylinder brake recall issue. While my car was in for service I also had them fix an electrical problem related to the automatic power door locks. The service manager (on his own) contacted Acura about the cost of the repair and did obtain a 75% discount from Acura because my car has extremely low mileage. I left the dealership a happy customer. However, to my astonishment after getting home and cleaning oil smudges off the engine left by the service technician with good light I discovered several clearly visible dents on the top of the left front fender which were caused by the technician during the repair! I returned to the dealership the next morning and pointed out the damage to my RL that occurred during the service work. The service manager accepted responsibility and has offered to try and repair the dents utilizing a "dent doctor" next week. I'll re-post on this topic next week regarding the success / failure of the dent removal from the RL's aluminum fender. I understand human error but it seems irresponsible and careless to have a technician working on expensive cars without proper training. Although this is the first year for this Acura dealership, I expected higher quality and competent service.
