Buying a car from a Hyundai Car Dealer
Not that this is anywhere near Towne Hyundai, but I did have a great experience with Hyundai of Everett, just north of Seattle, WA. Bought an '07 Limited w/Ultimate package and floor mats for $25,173 +TTL And no other bogus fee's besides a modest $35 doc fee. Fantastic experience and I'm loving the car.
The wife and I just picked up our '04 GLS AWD. Used edmunds and another cars^$#^$$ web site for info. The referral was sent to one dealer but I didn't like the vibes I was getting, so I just called Hyundai of Everett, wa and asked for the Internet guru, two days later we drove off with a Pewter AWD for 23,500 including all fees, taxes and plates. Whole experience was painless and pretty easy.
After a month of calling, visiting dealerships and impatience with dealer tactics, we decided to call Hyundai of Everett. They were professional and beat anyone's price in the Puget Sound area (didn't try Olympia). It was painless compared to other dealerships. I highly recommend them. Paid $13,416 + tax/lic/reg (GT, moonroof, traction control/abs brakes, manual). There was a $1,500 rebate at the time (Sept 03). So, right around invoice. Avoid Eastside Hyundai in Kirkland, they advertised $200 under invoice but their invoice price was a few hundred higher than Edmunds, KBB and cars.com. When I pointed this out the salesman simply discredited the websites. The quote they gave us also included $65 for B&O tax -- their business tax! Plus, we didn't like the slimey sales tactics in the first place. We walked away.
