Pleasant experience? No haggle dealers for a Hyundai? Where are they? I'm not talking about the best deal. I'm talking about the dealers right to steal. You can apologize for the dealer all you want but that's all they do is steal money from your pocket. Oh, I forgot...you call it negotiation. Isn't it convenient for the dealer that these late charges are sometimes discovered after the deal has been completed. But these salt of the earth dealers wouldn't think of ripping you off-no, it's called negotiating, part of the American folklore. And if you think you won the first round, then they put you through another torture chamber-the F & I room to deal with a first class talented heist artist. Oh yes, a pleasant experience between you and the honorable dealer. PT Barnum had it wrong (he probably never bought a car). How can there be a sucker born every minute, not when it comes to negotiating with a dealer. We are all lollipops just begging to get fleeced like a duck-quack...quack...quack, please give me back my wallet, oh, mighty dealer.

The competition is heating up. I live in NYC and in the last 5 months I have seen only one Sonata. Maybe sales are not so good. I have shopped the car and actually cancelled three deals. Hyundai dealers, typical of the industry, are equally talented in sticking there grubby hands into your pockets. They have certainly perfected the art of the lie and misdirection. In NYS the documentation fee is mandated at $45. In NJ, one dealer wanted $229. A dealer in Hempstead LI had the balls to print on the contract an administrative fee of $375. Can't say dealers lack imagination. The 2006 Honda Civic is a hot car in NYC. They are getting MSRP plus seven dealer add on items. The car is selling for around $22,000-for a civic.
