2008 Elantra GLS

I bought a GLS Automatic w/ popular equipment in Central Kentucky last week. Looks like I overpaid a little compared to prices I'm seeing here. Thought I got a good deal since it was $300 below Edmund's TMV price. Oh well, this is my first car purchase so I learned a few things going forward. Break down was: $15,000 Price (After 1500 rebate) $1073 Tax (Ohio rate-6.5%) $299 Document and Dealer fee $16,372 Total I know its not the best deal but I still love the car. Plus, I'm young (21) so 1-2k is not that much in the long run. Oh well. One thing I leaned is that I hate negotiating.

Oh, so there are 2008 models without XM radio? What do you think of this deal: 2008 Santa Fe AWD SE - no options, no additonal packages for $23,079 (after rebate)? This is their first offer - listed on their website.

For only 2400 more you can get an 08. I would think that is a better deal from a TCO (total cost of ownership) standpoint. Price quote here in OH for a 30.9 sticker vehicle is 26.4 (includes 250 doc fee). recent posts here on the 08's are even better than that...
Re: new hyundai sonata 08 GLS auto 4cyl [fannibal]

I just bought my 2008 Hyundai Sonata Limited, 4Cyl, Auto for $17500 out the door, TTL is $550 additionally. So if you can get it for anything close to that you would be CRAZY not to buy it! Don't walk, RUN down to the dealer before the end of this promotion! The $3000 rebate ends at the end of March. I also got a $500 military rebate. The extra options I got was Mud Flaps and Carpeted Trunk Mat and Spoiler like the SE has. I can't say enough about this car. It's a dream! There is a massive difference between the limited and the GLS in regards to creature comforts. There are many who wouldn't really appreciate those comforts and could easily live without them, but I'm not one of them. Oh, by the way, DON'T get the V6, save your money and get the 4Cyl. It has amazing power for a 4Cyl, the best I've ever experienced in a stock sedan, feeling a lot like my previously owned 6Cyl Nissan Maxima. The 4Cyl also gets MUCH better fuel economy. It has been reviewed time and time again to get better than 26mpg on average, compared to the abysmal 19 on the 6Cyl. Don't believe the numbers on the window sticker, those are the real numbers. Also, the 6Cyl costs $2K more and you will spend an average of $400 more per year on gas. Having said that, if money is no object, the 6Cyl is incredibly powerful and fast!
Re: Hyundai Azera: Prices Paid & Buying Experience [pat]
by cwintermeyer on Wed Mar 26 20:37:10 PDT 2008
When I decided on a 2007 Azera several weeks ago, I spent hours talking to dealers in several states, tracking down ten Azeras matching my want list. Now that I'm ready to purchase, I discovered seven of them have been sold. The remaining three are program cars with many miles on them (none under 6,000 miles). Sure, I still could buy a 2007, but without driving more than two states away, I would have to buy one with thousands of miles already on it, or settle on color choice (I'm insistent on black leather interior) or give up the Logic7 audio system (not gonna happen). Dedicated to my decision to own a new Azera Limited Ultimate with Logic7, I decided a 2008 is the only way to go. So, after some back-and-forth negotiating with three dealers, I ended up selecting a 2008 Azera Limited Ultimate without NAV in Silver with black leather interior. I pick her up this Friday. The deal I struck resulted in $24,894 for the car (includes the $2000 rebate), and $27,165 out-the-door. And, the dealer threw in the first two oil changes for free. Fortunately, the dealer I'm buying from is the same one that I will be taking the car to for service, since it's the one closest to where I live. And since I'm buying the car there, I get a free loaner when I take mine in for service. Although I originally had my heart set on a 2007, I'm happy with my decision and with the deal I got on an amazing vehicle that stickers for $30,595.
