Buying a car from a Hyundai Car Dealer
Just drove off with a FWD Santa Fe Limited for $23200 ($26k out the door after TX,TTL) in the Chicagoland area. Our best price for AWD was 25200 but decided that we didn't need the AWD so never really negotiated for a better AWD price. No one in the Cleveland, OH area was anywhere close. The Costco pricing was $1600 more. One other Chicago dealer matched the price but could not beat it. Other Chicago dealers could not figure out how to match the price without taking a big loss. How'd I do?
I purchased my Azera Limited Ultimate 2 weeks ago completely on-line. I used the E-bay Store listing referenced above by Charles12 above. It was an OUTSTANDING buying experience! The only thing that could have been better was if the salesman would have parked it in my garage for me! The sale was priced as follows: Base Price $26,765.00 Rebate - $1,000.00 Doc Fee $125.50 Total $25,890.50 The best price I could get locally (Bloomington, IN) was $1,100 higher and I had to accept what they had on the lot in the wrong colors. So instead of paying more for something I didn't want, I drove the 400+ miles to Great Lakes Hyundai in Streetsboro, OH (Cleveland area). The salesman even offered to pick me up at the airport if I flew in. It was quit amazing when I arrived - 12 Azeras awaiting delivery lined up in the service center. 2 for IN, 1 for PA, 1 for TX, 1 for FL and that was just two day's deliveries! I had my doubts when the whole purchase started because (based on the Edmund's wholesale value) they were losing money at this price. But that E-Bay purchase was for real and well worth the trip to Streetsboro. Everything they told me was honest and they dealt straight from the very beginning. None of the old car dealership haggling. Their only caveat is that you have to make the purchase over the web (E-Bay or e-mail). I will be going back shortly for a Santa Fe when the 07's come out later this summer - I'm that sold.
My buying experience here. I bought this brandnew 2005 Elantra GLS on the last day of 2004 from Rick Case Hyundai, Cleveland, OH. The price before Tax/Title/Fee: $12100 ( after rebate of $1250 + $500 trade-in for my Geo Prizm ). A/T, Cruise Control, Floor mat. I paid much of the price, with a couple of thousands on mortgage at 4.9% for two years from Hyundai motor Financial Company. Visited another dealer, Rick Case Hyundai/Mitsubishi and they only offered to sell a base GLS for #13300 ( out of their mind ? ) while pushing me to buy their new Galant at $15999 which I rejected. I live close to the dealer and I feel good about the saleman and the dealership. Got to use their free twice a month car wash when I live close by. Enjoy the riding. MPG is bit high, 22 so far. Got 780 miles on it. Haven't hit highway yet. After 1200 miles gonna test it on highway. So far so good. Just my full coverage insurance looks too high, $460/6 month. I got this quote from Esurance. Any comment on this insurance company?
