good price

Just got a 2008 LTD AWD w/ read entertainment, roof cross rails, and carpeted mats for a total, out the door price of $32,200. I searched pretty much all the dealerships in the NC, VA area, and got that price in Alexandria, VA. Besides the $1k rebate, got an extra $500 military rebate. Total email deal, never talked to the dealership until I showed up w/ a check.
09 Sonata

I'm looking very close at the 09 Sonata. I drive around 30k miles a year and usually put 225-250k miles on a car before replacing it. Will the newer Sonatas make 200k+ without much problem? At first I thought about buying a low mileage used Sonata due to the high initial depreciation but now understand the great Hyundai warranty is only for the original buyer. With a few 07's still on the lot and quiet a few 08's left I must assume it will be awhile before any 09 model incentives.

Want to buy 2008 Santa Fe in North Carolina
by trumpetpa on Mon Mar 10 08:30:03 PDT 2008
My wife and I are trying to buy a SE model 2008 Santa Fe. I was hoping for some advice on a couple of fronts. First, does anyone have any experiences with any dealers in NC, especially around Greensboro? Second, whats a good starting point to begin negotiating? Edmunds lists the invoice at around $23,000 so I thought of starting at $22,500. Lastly, I have good credit, so I calculated that taking the $2000 rebate would be better than any APR deals since I should be able to get about 5%-6% financing. $22,500 - $2000 rebate - $1500 tradein = $19000 Does that look about right or am I way off? thanks in advance
Re: 08 Bluetooth module on an 07? Is it possible? [wobbly_ears]
by ratledge on Tue Jan 22 06:25:30 PST 2008
Unfortunately, the '08 does not have an AUX input for MP3's. I have found that I can easily have 500-600 songs plugged into the 6 slots that are already there (well, assuming you don't get navigation which is shown as "late availability", but I have seen one - exactly one in the whole state, and I looked at every dealership in South Carolina plus Savannah GA & Charlotte NC). The big change in my mind (my aunt has an '06) is the handling and new shocks that make it much more of a comfortable and clean over washboard roads ride. Not being a 'whittler' on my car, I'm still quite certain that you could do such a thing (i.e. patch in an AUX input) pretty easily given that it could feed from the antenna like some of the older CD add-on products worked. :confuse: If you don't like losing your sunglass holder and/or find you can't get Bluetooth to work in your '07 or '06 model, there are at least two after-market items I can think of that work very well: one from a company called GoldLantern and another that right this minute I don't remember (it was on the "gadgets" show right before Christmas on "The Today Show", I think?) both of which clip onto your visor and therefore put the speaker and microphone immediately in front of the driver and in my opinion are going to work better than a center-mounted OEM device anyway... I've seen them as low as $55 - though retail is about $80-$100 depending on which one you like) and the one I bought usually runs about 180 hours between recharges. Assuming I remember to close it (which is how it is turned on and off), I gets about a month of driving time before it has to be recharged). Talk time of course is "more expensive" and about two 1/2 hours will eat up the charge as well, but I just don't talk in the car that much. ;)

Yes, definitely an '08 with the 605 watt stereo, Bluetooth "to be installed when available" (but pricing already known, and it is the Hyundai/OEM not aftermarket) :shades: They are hard to find, but seem to be showing up in the southeast at least in limited numbers at this point. Every dealer I have checked has at least two, maybe that was how many they got for their initial allocation? I have seen one out of about 20+ 2008's I have looked at over the past week (count 'em - one) with navigation which is shown as "late availability" - as is the Bluetooth module, but apparently is available in severely limited quantities. That was a black one (I think - my mind is a bit muddy after a week of looking everywhere in South Carolina, Savannah GA and Charlotte NC) at Myrtle Beach Hyundai/Isuzu.
