In post #260 on this thread, I happily reported the details of my 06 Limited, black, with beige leather. Last week my wife got rear-ended and the car is totaled. Sooo....I am back in the market. We are certain of only one thing. We are getting another Santa Fe. Looking through the thread it appears the 07 is substabtially more than the 06 and the rebate is substantially less. My main question is this - for those of you with the touring package - if the seats are folded down, how is the storage capacity? We don't want the third row seating, but if it is all we can find we would take it. We would rather have the storage space though. Also, I am in Alabama and willing to go anywhere within 5-6 hours to find the right car. If you know of a great dealer (or one to avoid) within the very wide borders of Jackson, MS to Huntsville, AL, to Atlanta down to Orlando, let's hear it.

that price of 12610 was after all the rebates--the elantra gls was listed around 15100--car is an automatic with cassette player--i think it was based on package#2--very basic stuff in car--no cd player--maybe cruise control--payments of 255 for 66months at 4.99% financing--i did find another dealer who dropped it to 11900--payments down to $237 for 66 months--exact same vehicle--i have not purchased the vehicle yet--just wondering if its a good deal or not

2001.5 GT

I bought a 2001.5 GT (new) last week. I got it in Cranberry with a manual transmission, sunroof, and floor mats. It also has pinstripes and a few other dealer extra which I refused to pay for since I didn't want them. Total price - $12,550 (plus TTL). I'm pretty pleased. I don't mind that it is last year's model at this price esp. considering I plan to keep it for years and years and years. I was getting 29.6 mpg and was just past the 1200 mile break-in when a log came flying through the air and smashed my hood and grill. It has been in the shop for a very long week getting fixed. I should get it back Monday, though. Yay! Tim, check the Elantra GT message board for more on what I went through with my recent 2K1.5 purchase....
