Hang tough with the HYUNDAI Dealer{S} go to more than one dealer and give them your nimbers and e-mail. I know from experience it's a beautifull time of the year, BUT IT'S ALSO TAX SEASON and people are wondering where their standing as far as getting a refund or having to pay the IRS. The dealers know this. And use this as a wedge for barganing to get the price you want to pay. Cars are not flying out the door of dealerships as Tax Season approaches. And do see a couple of of dealers it works, and let them know you've negotiated with other Hyundai dealers. Remember the time spent could amount could amount to serious savings. Good Luck. Ben

I'm thrilled to say that my experience picking up the promised floormats concluded with no excitment or drama whatsoever; the salesman was very accomodating and the mats were the correct color! I've read the "get it in writing" horror stories so I was very relieved when there was no trouble with this final piece of my purchase. Now I can fully enjoy my Sonata. I didn't ask them to enable the auto-lock feature; I'm still getting used to the vehicle and will probably decide to have that done in the next few months. Thanks for the tip, though!

On Saturday I purchased a 2008 GLS V6 from Henderson Hyundai here in Las Vegas. It was my second time buying a new car, and the information from this forum and the carbuyingtips website has been extremely helpful. I did not have a trade, and decided to negotiate based on the OTD price to avoid getting blindsided with unexpected fees during the haggling phase. I was shooting for $19,100 OTD, they offered $20,150 and after some back and forth (and me almost getting into my car to leave) we agreed on $19,300 including floormats. I uploaded the final price breakdown to my carspace album in the hopes that it will help people new to the process know what to expect and what to look for: Sales Order (Sales tax here is 7.75%) Also, here is the sticker showing the MSRP and standard equipment: Dealer Sticker Of course, the parts dept. was closed by the time we finished the deal so I'll be going back on Monday to pick those up. If that goes smoothly, I will be fairly satisfied with the experience. Thanks again to this forum and Edmunds for all your help!

On Dec 31st 2007, we bought a 2007 VC limited FWD from Carlsbad Hyundai at Car County Carlsbad in North San Diego County for $28995. You might try them if you are still in the market....

Peteyboy said the quote was $29,999. I certainly believe that, but when I went through one of the car purchasing internet sites and made an offer of $29,999 the Atlantic internet manager emailed and then called me and they said they were no longer offering that price. Now it was $33,700. Beats me! Sure is confusing out there with pricing! I'd still say try fitzmall.com. They seemed very pleasant and honest over the phone. And I still wonder how much your locality affects the deal. It is factored into Edmunds/Kelley etc. I"m sure if I wait for all the specials and the end of the year, I could do better, but my old car won't last that long! At any rate, I've learned a ton about buying cars and thank everyone for their thoughts.

Don't you think someone saying that they purchased an AWD Veracruz Limited for under $30K is not even worth believing, let alone calling about? I know for a fact that I can get a much better deal then Edmunds is reporting we should be paying. I am waiting to see if the interest rates get better in March or April.
