That only works if the salesman and/or dealer needs another sale or two to make quota or to get bonuses. If that one sale is driving off the lot when you are driving in you lose. Timing is everything.

As I said when he had the Chevy dealership I heard enough horror stories to stay away from anything that has his or his former partners name on it. And I don't mean your typical shady dealings I mean out right fraud.
2007 Sonata Used

Regarding the previous posts - I really think all dealerships are sketchy in some way, that's just the way it is. Here's my recent purchase: I live in Chicago and this weekend I bought a 2007 Sonata with all the fixin's except sunroof (woodtrim, steering wheel controls, cruise etc...). Purchase price was $14,300 before TTL - car has 6400 miles. I love it and feel like I got a good deal, however the dealership, like most, was trying to grind me down for every extra penny they could get. I bought the car from Patrick Hyundai in Schaumburg, IL. All these places play games - after we settled on price they told me that they only had one set of keys. If I wanted a second set (of course I did) it would cost $6 for the key and an additional $212 for the keyless entry remote (100 for remote and 112 for the programming of the remote). I almost walked out - I threw a fit and basically called them out on that B.S. tactic although I ended up paying $56 for the extra key (guy said he would give me the remote for free and 'split the cost' of the programming). I know this was all B.S. and I could have probably got it all for free but at that point I just wanted to close the deal up. Their whole mission is to wear you down, grinding you out for every penny. So that's my story - I love the car it drives like a dream. I hate dealing with salesmen though, it's the only part that makes buying a car a bit painful.

Sorry I wouldn't buy a stick of gum from Ettleson. He used to own a Chevy dealership (with a partner) that had a lot of controversial practices.
Good Deal In Illinois

My wife and I just bought a new car yesterday from Gartner Hyundai in Naperville, IL. We purchased a 08' Santa Fe FWD Limited with Navigation for what I believe was an extremely competitive price. Out the door, we settled on $25,199 + T,T,L; they also gave us a very fair offer on our trade in which will allow us to keep our monthly payment below $400. From my limited experience with the Navigation seems as though it is a fairly good device although I still cannot believe that they do not have an AUX for an IPod.
