Buying a car from a Hyundai Car Dealer
We bought our kids '08 Accent there and had a pretty decent experience...not so much when the other girl wanted an '09 Elantra. Pass by their shop daily and saw a whole new shipment of Sonata's out back but no new Elantra's and that's what the wife is considering as her next ride. I've told her that we need to wait until at least March of 2012 when, I hope, the supply will finally outstrip the demand as I won't pay an admin fee and would want to be closer to invoice than msrp. If not, she said she'd gladly get a new Mazda 3, as we've had pretty good luck with it as it just passed 92k. Funny, last month in Orlando, we saw a ship load of Elantra GLS base models as rentals. Maybe Hyundai should concentrate on getting more units to their dealers since it's so popular! The Sandman :)
Van: I am up in Jax so I am trying to keep around here if at all possible. (The Miami call was really just for the heck of it). I have tried in Orlando, Daytona, Ocala but mostly got the "why don't you come in and see what we can do" dance. I did not try Fitzmall because it is down in Tampa mostly, but I did look at some of the numbers people posted and I did not think they were all that great from what I could tell. Although with rebates, processing fees, taxes etc. sometimes it is hard to discern what people actually paid. That's why I try to speak in terms of invoice (which includes destination charge) and where in relation to it I paid. PRIOR to any rebates. Joe
You aren't too far from Clearwater... consider http://www.fitzmall.com/default.asp?lstAREA=FL they seem to be pretty good guys according to a lot of the posters here. Sorry backy, I pushed the wrong button. van
I think you should shop around some more for a dealer that will not charge such an exhorbitant "dealer/prep" fee. FYI, the window sticker on the car states that the MSRP includes dealer prep. With that fee and the $2000 rebate, the price is a bit under invoice--pretty good, but depending on where you live much better deals are available.
