Buying a car from a Hyundai Car Dealer
My wife and I just purchased our 09 Sante Fe Limited yesterday. It was a Black on Black Demo model. No Navi/running boards but all the rest. After a few hours we were able to settle on $22,500 before TTL. Purchased from Terry at Key Auto Company in Jacksonville, FL.
Oh yeah, it is nothing but pure profit. In FL almost all the dealers charge $599! It is a real rip off. Just negotiate the price down the price of the fee if you can.
I have a similar problem. I want a 2009 Sonata Lmtd with Navi but I want it in Slate Blue. The dealership I am working with says there are none in the region. They claim they have ordered it from the plant and it will be arriving but they can't seem to tell me when. Don't settle for a car that is not exactly what you want. They tried to push me into another color.
Merg: Your MSRP and invoice number look about a $1,000 too low. I am confused. Anyway... Enjoy your new car! Lets us know how you are liking! Dealer has supposedly ordered my car from the factory but didn't say how long it would take. Wife doesn't want me to buy now, as I deploy to Afghanistan for a year in March. She said it doesn't make sense to buy a new car just to have it sit in garage for a year. I hate when she uses logic! Joe
So it would be $3.5K below invoice with $2K being rebates and $1.5K dealer discount - that is pretty good. I'd go for it.
