Re: 2009 hyundai rebates expiration? is this a good deal... [markm75]

Not sure what part of PA you are in, but I also live in PA (Johnstown area) and we purchased two Hyundais last year. We ended up buying from a dealer by my sister in DC/VA because at the time, none of the dealers within a two hour drive of Johnstown would go lower than invoice minus rebates, and even that was tough to get! This PA market area doesn't seem to be as competitive as other markets so dealers around here are not as discount happy as others may be.
Re: Hyandai Sonata '09 GLS Inventory Out of Stock [domik]

Domik, I used West Broad Hyundai in Richmond, VA, back in May; very good experience with them. Here's their inventory, they're only showing MSRP, but they have a "Name Your Price" option; they have a decent selection of GLS I4 Autos available, although only four or five with PEP. http://westbroadhyundai.com/results.asp?newused=0&seldealers=&selMake=Hyundai&se- - lBody=&selModel=Sonata&selModelLike=&selTrim=&selYear=&selColor=&color=&ZIP=&sel- - Distance=&selPriceMin=&selPriceMax=&selDistanceMin=&selDistanceMax=&stockNum=&tr- - ansmission=&driveType=&engine=&prices=&FilterMake=&xMake=&pictures=&rebates=&dis- - counts=&specials=&comments=&multiPics=&getCert=&ssimages=&vevo=&video=&sortUSED=- - &directUSED=&sortCERT=&directCERT=&sortNEW=car_price1Mod&directNEW=ASC">West Broad Hyundai If you were talking about some other Richmond than Virginia, can't help much, but that's the Richmond most people keep talking about (2 hours from DC). Edit: Oops, should have looked closer... only one '09 GLSes in stock, and that's a manual at the same MSRP as the 10, all of the rest are '10s or '09 and '10 Limiteds.

I bought it in DC area. Here is my final price. $17,765 with invoice of $17,294, sale price 13,898, 959.88 sales tax(6%), $237 tag & title, $100 processing fee, final OTD $15,194.88. -4500 ctc, 10694.88. So bad do not they let me to finance to get the 400 student rebate, because my driver license is in OH.
Re: Help! 09 Sonata GLS i4 AT w. PEP [mikemartin]

See, if I had bought that car it would have cost me about $15,800 right (DC taxes? But I would have received only $1000 on my old car, so $14,800 when all was said and done. Under CARS, I got it for $13,300. Seems like a good deal to me, even if the dealer got a bit more. Maybe I could've done better, but I think I did better than I could have without CARS. I gotta say too, just objectively speaking, $13,300 for a brand new mid-size sedan is outstanding.
2009 Sonata GLS AT
by steve613 on Wed Jul 29 07:36:57 PDT 2009
Hi, I just bought a 2009 GLS AT with bluetooth in VA (but paying DC taxes) for $13,300 OTD with a $3500 clunker rebate. So the OTD price before the clunker was $16,800. How does that compare to what others are getting? Thanks, Steve

Hi Pat! Fitzmall is a high volume dealer with excellent Internet prices and a no haggle policy... they are a good benchmark for costs. Here would be a good spot to look for a Sonata. You may not buy from Fitzmall (I didn't, as it turned out) but you can at least use their prices as leverage in your won negotiations. You would be looking at the "Internet Price", btw. Starting at a price of $16,196 there are definitely GLS I4 Autos with PEP (one each, Cocoa and Camel Pearl, a bunch more Camel Pearls at 16199, and some Khakis at 16207, all with PEP, but the Slate Blue in that range is NOT PEP), but be sure to check the particular car; $16208 Slate Blue, for example, has the PZEV I4 engine with auto but no extra options (PZEV is a lower smog engine, IIRC, mostly for California; try this Wikipedia article for more info on those; they tend to cost a good bit more, though part of the car actually would then have a 15 year/150K warrenty....). Fitzmall charges a straight $100 for all documentation work, plus you would have to pay your own sales tax for KY (but no miscellaneous taxes for Virginia/Maryland, IIRC) (though the dealership will figure that for you). Depending on how far from the DC area you are is how long it would take to get there. You are currently talking at least a minimum of $1000 lower than the price that your dealer is saying he's not making a profit at (so he's lying to you; Fitzmall definitely is making a profit, too). Go back with hard numbers from other dealers (including Fitzmall) to the dealer/dealers who've been most forthright, see if they'll match or beat the best you can get. Just be prepared to say (and do!) "I'm going to Fitzmall" (or whereever) if the dealer isn't reasonable. Good luck!
