We did not have a trade-in. We called saying we had seen their internet price and would like to purchase. Asked for confirmation of total out the door price. They responded with price of car, doc fee, title & registration fee, CT sales tax (CT taxes the pre-rebate price) and rebate for the total OTD price. All of it was very clear. We made the agreement over the phone on a Tuesday or Wednesday and picked up the car on Saturday. The title & registration fees were a bit high--included temporary NJ registration--but it didn't matter. The total price OTD ($18,189) on an MSRP of $22,080 before tax, doc fee, title & registration was something like $3K less than the dealership in Bridgeport wanted. This was for an '07 Sonata SE V6 in Feb '07. They told us the colors they had in stock. We selected gray and they then gave us the VIN, so we could get our insurance card. The car was ready and fully prepped Saturday morning. Towne arranged HMFC financing (5.9% for 60 months, which was a good rate in 2/07). All we had to do was sign papers and give the balance of our downpayment. Actually, my brother picked up the car. He left Shelton, picked up the car and was back in Trumbull to show me the car in about 4.5 hours. A friend bought an Azera in 4/07. Same great experience. Although, at that time, Towne was able to get better financing through a bank than from HMFC. Wish this forum allowed me to give you the salesman's name.

When a friend of mine was getting serious about buying an Azera abut a year ago, he checked with Key with the salesman he leased his Mercury from. That guy, the one who sometimes writes letters to the CT Post, wanted $3,000 more for an '06 Azera (Key didn't have the '07 Azera a year ago) than he wound up paying for an '07 with Ultimate pkg at Towne. I forget which town you're in, I'm in Trumbull. But from here to Towne it's only 100 miles...well worth the drive. Key's service department is no problem, as you may know. When my business bought an '07 Sonata in Feb last year, my brother test drove one from Key in Milford. The sales attitude was a bit better than Bridgeport. The sales man told him that they might be able to go as low as invoice at the end of February. I forget what the rebate was at that time, but we got the car from Towne at $4400 under invoice including dealer discount, rebate & $500 owner loyalty. (It may have been $2K rebate & $dealer price $1900 under invoice).

Hi Mary Ellen. I'm in Trumbull, my office is in Monroe. I started posting about how great Towne Hyundai is back in February (we bought a new Sonata from them then). Check their web site townehyundai.com. Then call them. They will confirm everything over the phone...no surprises when you get there. Wish I could give you the manager or salesman's name...but the internet salesman should treat you just as well. They're about 100 miles away from our Rte 25 & Rte 111. On a week day figure 1 & 3/4 hours each way...a little less on a weekend. At the time of our purchase they were about $800 less than Fitzmall. A friend bought an Azera there in April and saved big $ compared to the guys in Bridgeport & Milford (he even bought a used car for his son from Towne in June). A co-worker of his bought an '07 Tuscon from Towne shortly thereafter and saved about $3K compared to the local dealerships. My business is an insurance agency at 115 Main St, just south of Duchess and L&R in Crescent Village, next door to Angels&Co. Give me a call if you'd like more info (don't think I can plug my own business name here, but you can find us in the phone book).

Good luck with wherever you buy and whatever equipment you settle upon. I view the "this weekend only price" or "today only" is just a pressure tactic. If they can sell me a car today for $X, why can't they sell me the same car tomorrow for the same $X unless there is a manufacturers discount to either retail buyer or dealership that ends today? Did you check the web site of the dealer I mentioned? Their price is the same no matter the time of the month. Apparently they sell enough cars (probably because of their pricing) that they don't have to worry about squeezing in a couple more sales at the end of the month in order to get the best factory to dealer bonuses. Buyer gets the same great deal no matter the day of the month. I'm in CT, just north of Bridgeport. Bought a Sonata from Towne in Feb., a friend bought an Azera in April (and a used Sonata for his son in June), and a co-worker of his bought a Tuscon about 7 or 8 weeks ago. All were excellent buying experiences, no hidden charges and no last minute F&I pressure to load up the price. The trip from here to Towne is 100 miles each way but, to save $3,000 compared to the local dealer pricing, it was well worth it. And, of course, any Hyundai dealer will perform any requird warranty work and will also be happy to perform any routine service work (earn your money) you may wish to have done at a dealer.

That sounds like bunk. Even if you wanted high mileage, like 40K per year, they could build that into the price or charge you at the end. Was this Key Hyundai-Bridgeport? My small business (2 peopel)has bought 2 Sonatas in 2 years with no changes from standard warranty.

I posted the $25,705 price. If you check Town Hyundai's web site and click on "internet pricing" you will see that they are currently offering the Azera's at $1800 under invoice, plus there is a $1,000 rebate, making the net price $2800 under invoice. My friend is getting the black on black. Towne had to get the car from a nearby dealer, as they only had a couple Azera's on the lot and he didn't care for the colors. His wife can't get off work Wednesday, so I'm driving him the approx 100 miles to get the car. We're leaving from Trumbull, CT. Don't waste your time trying to get a car from the Bridgeport dealer. The salesman there wanted wanted $26,580 (after $2500 rebate) + their doc fee is $398 (vs $189) and, when I bought my Sonata 2 years ago they would have charged a $500 advertising fee. Oh yeah, that price was for an '06 in Bridgeport vs '07 at Towne. This price is available. Just check their web site.
