The dealership that I work for would never allow me to sell a new car below invoice, that's the point that I am really trying to make here. My questions to you; would you be happy in that lease? are you happy with your sales person? would you buy from them again and again? do you think that sales person will expect you to buy from them again? what do you stand to lose over a couple hundred dollar better deal from another dealership? the way I do my job is along those same kinds of questions... sure I could sell lots of cars at right around invoice and keep selling cars for along time, but the customers I love to have come in are the ones who come in and say "hey ben, i was hoping you were still in today, my daughter needs a new civic... here is what we thought was a good price to pay; what do you think?" and when somone brings me a real and honest offer, I sometimes say some stupid line like, "well you offer is close, but... I am going to have to give you a free oil change with it..." it makes for sooo much easier and more enjoyable experiance for everyone the next time. there is so much information out there today that you all know what the Dealers pay for the cars from the MFG's its not tought to find out; just buy the car you want. but before you buy it... make sure you are buying it from some you; A. Know. B. Like. C. Trust. If you know a salesman, buy a car from him/her...(unless you don't like/trust them) they really will not do you wrong.
Re: EX-L's front light always on and no under seat storage bin? [kenneth813]

kenneth813, to answer your questions in post #6703. the person who posted just after you was right, the reason your headlights are always on at a dimmer level is you DRL. and it is not a "problem" they are supposed to be on. as for your lack of storage bin under your seat... come see me, I'll trade you my bin for whats under your seat. You have an upgraded radio, that is your subwoofer. I hope nobody told you there was a storage bin under there in your EX-L.

if you haven't allready signed the papers..... DO IT! those seem to be legit #'s, and there is no way my MGR would approve that deal. You shoul be able to lease the EX-L V6 for close to the same price as a 4cyl EX-L Navi. Just an FYI..
would you buy a higher milage insight/or a more$ certified one?

just a question to get another insight forum started. what are your thoughts about the reliability of Honda, and the Honda Insight. The Insight has been out since 12/1999 as a 2000 model year car. what are general concerns/questions. Let me remind you, I do sell these cars and would be glad to field questions but more important than that is I really want to see what people are saying about their lives with the Insight, and others future plans. Thanks for the opinions. Ben

I sell for a smaller Honda dealership in WI. and we have not had anymore than 6 CR-V's on the lot at once since the redesign, and we have been selling a vast majority of them at full MSRP. only repeat Honda owners are getting special pricing... and by that I give 15% off of installed extras. if anybody in the last year has got a discount of more than like 650$ you got a fair price! good for you all! My wife and I paid $23,555 for an 08 EX 4WD with a hitch, all weather mats, cargo tray, splash grds and body side-moldings!!!
Purchased EX-L-RES in Minneapolis
by breinders on Sun Jul 03 11:32:47 PDT 2005
I purchased a Desert Rock EX-L-RES from Burnsville Honda for 30,800 (+ 70 doc fee + TTL) on 6/30/2005. I had an excellent experience working with the internet sales manager and with the dealer and I highly recommend both. This price is up to 1,000 more than others have paid for this model. As I have experienced and as other posters have mentioned, Odyssey prices run high in Minneapolis. In fact, I think this is a good price from a Minneapolis dealer and it was convenient to buy a car within a few miles from home. I worked to find a better price from dealers in MN, WI, and IA. I contacted 14 dealers and received pricing from 10. Even dealers that others have had luck with (e.g. Honda Motorwerks in La Crosse) started out with a high "lowest possible offer" over 31,000 and were not willing to deal much. This was surprising. Many dealers that I talked to said that that they are selling the few EX-L-RES's they get without dealing much. Maybe demand vs.supply has changed in the last couple of months. I purposely waited to contact dealers until 6/27 in the hopes of finding a dealer willing to deal before month end. This may have contributed to Burnsville working with me on the price as they had a car in our color (Slate Green or Desert Rock) coming in on 6/29. But I wonder if it backfired with the other dealers - not a single one of which had a van coming in before the end of the month let alone one on the lot. It sounded like they sold quite a few the prior weekend.
