I am looking to buy a new Element and received a quote of $1200 off MSRP w/ an out the door price of $24,000. taxes here are 8.8% That is not ever 10% not a real bargain wondering if that is a good deal or maybe I should wait a little longer but the money is trying to burn a hole in my pocket... I will keep looking this weekend but any knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Oh I went to the Honda dealership here in Tacoma, WA.
EX-L V6 with nav in Wash. state or Oregon

I have looked at the last month' postings here and most of the decent prices are far from me. The one good price I saw was from Vancouver, WA but a follow-up post stated just got MSRP from that dealer. South Sound Honda in Tacoma had told me they could only go a few hundred under MSRP and got these now expired quotes from Honda of Seattle. 2008 Accord EX-L automatic sedan-$25,362.98 2008 Accord EX-V6 automatic sedan-$25,483.34 2008 Accord EX-LV6 automatic sedan-$27,250.97 I am looking for beige with ivory interior. Does anyone know if factory orders might be easier to get a good price on rather than dealer stock or dealer trade??

Berkut, The dealer that quoted invoice for the 08 EXL RES was Northwest Honda in BELLINGHAM, WA which is about 50 miles north of Seattle. If yo'ure looking for the same car, we may be able to get a group buy deal. On a separate note - has anyone tried using a credit card to pay for a significant chunk of the car? Last time I bought a Honda, the dealer said that they could only charge 2k to the card because it costs them too much. Is this true?

Hi ianfm I have not needed to get any work done it and haven't been able to find specific language in warranty booklet. For me, the price difference was so great I figured I would take the risk. I've had the vehicle over a year and if I recall, warranty was only for 3. Overall, vehcile runs like a charm but mileage is a lot worse than what I was expecting. 5 to 6 km/litre. I did contact same dealer about a month ago about importing a honda civic and was advised that they do not sell to Canadians any more.

Just to pass on my experience... I bought my Acura in Canada, imported it to the US when I moved to the states and found out that the warranty would not be honoured in the US... if warranty or recall work was required, it would have to be done back in Canada. Thankfully, that never happened... and if it did... I'm not too far from the border... but food for thought. Cheers, T

Hi paulg16, Have you had occasion to take the car into the US for warranty work? If so, did it work? I can buy a new Accord in Washington or Oregon, import it into Canada and register it in Canada. I am getting mixed messages from US dealers as to whether the Honda America new car warranty is valid at US dealers for such a car. Some dealers say that I can bring it to them for warranty work. Others, who won't sell me a car, say it becomes a "gray market" car and is not covered by either Honda Canada or Honda America for warranty. You presumably have a warranty booklet from your purchase. Does it have any specific language specifying that the car must be registered in the US? ianfm
