Buying a car from a Honda Car Dealer

I have been shopping for a DX or LX Accord sedan for a while now. I have family in the south SF Bay area so I visit there often. Seems like an Accord LX auto sedan is pretty commonly available in San Jose for about $17.5K (incl destination, but before other fees and taxes). Local dealer doc fees are about $50. Hondas are a commodity in the Bay area (lots of dealers and many are volume oriented to boot). Local economy also happens to be weak. You can get on the Stevens Creek Honda email list and get their weekly specials...of late, I have seen LX autos for about $17.3K and EX autos for about $19.3K. Boston, MA prices are reputed to be better, but I have no direct experience with that area. I also assume that West Coast dealers get more Japan-manufactured cars (as opposed to Eastern states closer to Marysville, OH), if that is important to you. I am leaning toward getting a car in the Bay Area, since the Seattle, WA area where I live is a less price-driven market. They can't (won't) offer anything close pricewise up here.
