Buying a car from a Honda Car Dealer

2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L w/o NAV or RES price? by carnovice2 on Fri Jan 14 16:29:16 PST 2011

I just purchased a 2011 dark cherry pearl EX-L w/o NAV or RES, including the all-weather package (floor mats, splash guards, and cargo tray, I think). I used a reputable car buying service so I could avoid the entire negotiation hassle, but I was hoping to get some feedback on the price I got from the service). I'm getting the car delivered to Portland, OR, from Bremerton, WA (about 150 miles distance). The dealer is having it driven down to Portland. The price was "gross cap cost" of $33,500 (which I was told was approx. $900 above invoice) There is an added $738 for the backup sensors I wanted installed as well as a $595 acquisition fee bringing the grand total to $34, 833. MSRP was $35, 230. Any opinions? Thanks!

Here are a couple of links to West Hill Honda in Bremerton Wa. The MSRP seems very high to me. I called in and the MSRP over the phone is also very high compared to the real Honda MSRP. It does not seem to be based on the added features. I asked on the phone for a MSRP for a civic EX-L 4 door automatic WITH NO ADDED STUFF, and was told $26700. The real MSRP is around $22555. Am I missing something? I realize that dealers add stuff and often charge a lot more then it is worth. I also know that the real MSRP is printed on the window. But is it even legal to misrepresent the MSRP on a on going basis? That dealership and another one right next to it (Toyota owned by the same owners) are the only ones I can find that consistently do such stuff, and on significant number of thier cars. Price thru Costco Program on EX-L 4x4 by sgrigory on Sat Oct 07 20:35:46 PDT 2006

I went over to the dealer in Bremerton, WA, (ferry ride and all) today. I was referred to them by the Costco Program. Their offer? Not so great, $250 under MSRP. I had already, and quite easily, gotten the price down to MSRP by just walking onto the lot in downtown Seattle, inspite of their $2k markup. Oh well, the ferry ride was nice... : )

We recently purchased our 06 Honda EX from a dealership in Bremerton, WA. They initially weren't giving us any great hope that they would give us a good deal, but when it came right down to it they did. We bought our SageBrush Pearl EX for $25,049 plus tax and lic. If you would like the dealaer's info please contact me off list and I'd be happy to pass that on to you.

You know we live in Kitsap County and had the same problems getting decent price qoutes from Seattle, Tacoma, Lynnwood etc. Finally West Hills Honda in Bremerton gave us what I think was a fairly good deal. We got a 2006 EX (not leather) 4WD for $25,049 plus tax and licensing. We didn't haggle at all...that was our lowest qoute from California and they matched it.
