I've talked to half a dozen dealerships and have used strategies from this website to pit dealership vs dealership. So far, all of the sales reps have been quite polite and have just told me that they couldn't match a deal. Earlier today, I emailed a sales rep from Northwest Honda in Bellingham, WA. I asked him if he could beat a deal I received from another dealership. Here's our email correspondence today: Me: Here's what I'd like: 09 CRV-EX-L AWD for $25900, including destination charge, mudflaps, pinstripe, wheellocks, and detail. If you can make this happen, I will buy. I need a white one with gray leather. Sales Guy: Bummer, I could have gotten you that Out-the-door LAST month. By the looks of it, you've been shopping. Thats a good price. Buy it. Sales Guy (a few minutes later in a 2nd email): And stop nickle and dimming everyone. No offense but you're being an asshole. Dealerships have to make money too and you are squabbling over a hundred bucks. Pony-up and stop being such a tight-ass.

Plus you will get some improvement in MPG & ride with the smaller 15" 60 series tires at a slight cost of handling. I hope to buy a Fit in a year & the tire size is a signficant reason. I think you should be tickled pink that the dealer is willing to swap wheels & give you a $500 credit. :D

V4 EX-L w/Nav purchase from Renton Honda, WA: by abhiku on Thu Mar 13 00:28:26 PDT 2008; So today was the lucky day..I was going to Bellingham to pickup my car (90 miles north) then Renton honda called me when I was on the freeway just to take exit for Bellingham. He told me color I was looking for is actually here (was waiting for 2 weeks). I took exit for Renton Honda immediately. Inspected the car date on the door 02/08. Miles 5. Color silver with gray with Nav. have already splash guard & wheel locks. I said I have quotes of $500 less of invoice & one email of $300 less than invoice. Got approval from his manager & agreed for $300 LT invoice immediately..No BS..No Games. Price of car $25750 (Including dest) + Title/lic. $214 + Tax 9.2% in King county WA. I purchased all season mats & trunk tray for $301..I know it's little higher than online price but if I add this to car price it brings to $26051 (invoice price of car that includes 4 accessories). I was happy because all dealers I talked to giving me invoice price NO accessories. I think its good deal & I'm happy with car. Just for WA state potential buyers..here are the review of WA dealers I dealt with in the past 2-3 weeks. 1. Hinshaw honda in Auburn..they are rude, arrogrant & AH people. wasted my entire day. after make me wait for 2 hrs..Rob Preston - new car sales manager said his best price is on the sticker & can't match any price..BS..I asked him why don't he take sticker __ & start licking it and I walked away. 2. Bellevue honda in Bellevue. They did show the attitude while price matching but was agreed to match price with Trunk tray for add. $100 dollar. I took the delivery of car but having two dents+scratches inside the driver door. Call my bank to stop the payment & return the car after two hours...I said Honda can't ship the car with these dents without passing the QA checks. Renton Honda..No games, very nice people. In the end, they were asking for my SSN number, I was paying with check. Talked to their GM (very nice guy, he wan't rude like other dealership in WA) & he did talked to his finance team & boom deal done. I have seen good review of Renton Honda inside my company forum ( I worked for large company in northwest) but today I witness that good service.

Re: Seattle Tacoma EX-L Prices [berkut027]: by mercer08 on Sun Dec 30 11:13:24 PST 2007; Berkut, The dealer that quoted invoice for the 08 EXL RES was Northwest Honda in BELLINGHAM, WA which is about 50 miles north of Seattle. If yo'ure looking for the same car, we may be able to get a group buy deal. On a separate note - has anyone tried using a credit card to pay for a significant chunk of the car? Last time I bought a Honda, the dealer said that they could only charge 2k to the card because it costs them too much. Is this true?

I was having my '05 Touring serviced Monday night and my salesman told me a remarkable story that took place just that day. He had a guy fly into Columbus from Bellingham, WA, to buy an '07 Touring R&N - he reportedly figured that he saved several thousand dollars because prices in the Pacific NW are about the highest in the continental U.S. The guy wanted to come to Ohio for some other reason anyway and so worked out a deal and killed two birds with one stone.

WA State - No ODY Deals like others are getting: by jeffmit on Sun Jan 01 19:22:10 PST 2006; I was just about to pay ~29,500 for an EX-L. The deals on Odyssey's were hard to find in WA and my offer was refused by all of the local dealers between Olympia to Bellingham... I used the request a quote feature and put an offer that I was comfortable with and I was suprised to get an email from 2 remote dealers - one in Moses Lake, and another in Aberdeen. I ended up purchasing an EX-L with muds/locks/RTA paid by the dealer. My offer was 29,850 including the accessories and I purchased it yesterday - NO games - no pressure. I highly recommend shooting an email to some of the remote locations and Aberdeen treated me great. It was a smooth transaction - they even trucked the car in from OR for me and it only had 30 miles on it! Although I didnt get the deal many others are getting elsewhere, this was a great deal for WA state and we are happy! Good luck :)
