Here's the skinny: 2007 Odyssey EXL White with 4 miles Larry H. Miller Honda Salt Lake City, UT MSRP: $31K+ Purchase Price: $26000 Doc Fee: $299 Sales Tax: $1801.48 License and Registration: $51.75 State Property Assessment: $150 Tire Recycling Fee: $5 Out the Door: $28314.75 Financed at 6% for 72 months They tried to sneak in a "Vehicle Theft Registration" fee for $299 in the financial office but we insisted they take it off and they did. Could have had the same van for $24500 in Georgia but wasn't worth the headache. Had a deal of $28803 out the door for an EXL w/RES and NAV at Honda of Joliet in Illinois but didn't want to spend that much - still a great deal if you are looking for that van. My wife's is happy, therefore, I am happy...
07 CRV EX-L w/NAV for $29,784 OTD

I am in Utah and have purchased a Tea Green 07 CRV EX-L w/NAV for $29,784 OTD ($1000 off MSRP plus taxes & fees) from Willey Honda through their internet dept. How does that compare to others in the area? I am buying one simultaneously with my sister-in-law, and I thought buying 2 cars at the same time would have more mileage - pardon the pun - in getting me a good deal. Thoughts? :)

MY experience buying 2 2007 CR-V's in Salt Lake: My sister in law and wife are both getting 07 CR-V's AWD EX-L with Navi. Because we are buying 2 I was able to get $1,000 off msrp for both, and that was by going through the internet departments of 2 dealers (Ken Garff and Willey Honda) that beat each other's offers until we bottomed out at the $1000 off. TMV in my area is just $200 off msrp. I knew that $1000 off msrp is good for the way these cars are selling but I still went into Ken Garff and tried to get an even better deal from the salesperson. The only thing he would do is match Willey's doc fee that is $100 cheaper. He seemed annoyed that he was mathcing the other dealer's offer and let us walk without really trying to get the sale, which told me we really did have a good deal. Although for the work of 1 sale he was moving 2 cars, so I was surprised he didn't try harder to make the sale. He probably knows he can sell them for more, but still. So I confidently went to Willey Honda and had a much more pleasant experience. But as we were signing the hold orders (both cars are just coming off the production line in Japan, e.g. 3 week wait)the salesperson confided that their average discount for shoppers is $500 - $550 off msrp, and that through Costco you only get $300 off. He said that for the CR-V it was not a good idea to go through Costco - this may be different for other cars, I don't know. My advice is before you go through Costco see what sort of a deal you can get through the internet dept. of your dealer. A lot of the time the internet sales people are allowed to make deals that show room salespeople can't. I haven't decided on accessories yet if any, but here are the numbers for each car as they stand until the cars come in: MSRP + Dest. fee: $28,595 Discount: -$ 1,000 Taxes @ 6.5%: $ 1,793 Doc fee: $ 199 Title, Reg: $ 197 My Price: $29,784 Now my questions is: Do I have any chance at getting any deal on accessories or working any better deal now that I've ordered the cars? And did I get as good a deal as I think I did?

Your money factor of 0.00146 only applies to LX Accord models. That is the special lease rate which works out to 3.5% APR. Honda finance regular lease rate (which applies to EX models) is 6.85% which works out to a money factor of 0.0028541. I would be interested in knowing if anyone has bought or leased an EX model recently with special lease or financing thru Honda finance. I am currently in the market to buy, as soon as I sell my current vehicle. I would like an EX on lease, but having done the math an LX lease would be roughly $100/ mo. cheaper bue to price and lease rate differences. Seems like a huge discrepancy to me, and will likely push me into an LX if I can't get better financing.
