What experience does anyone have buying a pilot around the Waco, Dallas/FW or Austin areas? Also, what kind of actual city/hwy gas mileage are you seeing on the 2wd and the awd models?
Just wanted to first say thanks to everyone for their posts over the last month. I learned so much! I had been researching buying a new Accord EX V6 w/out Nav. for the last 6 weeks. I'm in Austin, TX, but got internet quotes from Temple, Waco, San Antonio, and Houston. Someone told me about Russell Smith Honda in Houston, and I'm glad they did. They gave me an internet quote of 23,619.00. I tried hard to get both Austin dealerships to at least match this, but they said they couldn't come close. I had NO Trade-In and told them I would be paying Cash. I even offered them 25,400. (Out The Door), but they said they would be losing way too much money. When I showed them the quote from Russell Smith, they said they were "Low-balling" me. They told me to get them to fax a Purchase Order (signed by the manager) with the VIN # on it. When I got home I called them, and they had no problem doing it! This was on May 30th. I drove to Houston the next day, and had not one problem. They gave me the car for exactly what the quote was. Here's how it broke down: Car Price: 23.619.00 Tax: 1,476.19 (6.25% in Texas) Inspection/Title 58.88 License Fee 72.30 Doc Fee 50.00 ---------------------------------------------- "Drive Out Price" $25,331.12 I got the Satin Silver, which comes with black leather! It's fabulous. It drives like a dream. I test drove the 4 cylinder as well, but liked the V6 MUCH better!! It had 2 miles on it when I drove it off the lot, when I got to Austin, it had 170, but well worth it, as I saved around 1,100 by buying in Houston!
Credit Union of Texas has 4.39%. If you sign up for their checking account(free), this drops to 4.19%. If you have it automatically deducted from any account (even outside the CU), this rate goes to 4.09%. Suggest you check with some credit unions in Houston.
I am planning to buy a EX-L in Houston at $30300.00. I am thinking to have 60-month loan. How much down payment should I put in order to qualify for the Honda equity of 4.1% for up to 60 months? Thanks a lot.
The salesman said that I could get 4.39 and that's what I was going to go with until closing at which time I started talking to the credit manger. I ended up putting another thousand down to qualify for what they called a Honda equity in order get the 4.1% for up to 60 mo.
