2010 Pilot EX-L with RES FWD, good price?: by juliawithtwo on Sat Dec 05 16:35:21 PST 2009; I am getting quotes from multiple dealerships through their internet department. One is offering $33,200 + TTL with current financing. Do you think that's a good (enough) deal on a 2010 EX-L with RES, or do you think that I could get an even better deal at the end of the month, after Christmas? (I am in Austin, TX area, but we are shopping all the dealerships from Dallas down to San Antonio.)

[suehan]: by alamocity on Fri Nov 27 23:54:14 PST 2009; For a 2010 LX and no additional accessories I'd say $22,166 would be a good starting point for an OTD price for TX and that's figuring a price of $20,646 for the vehicle, $1,290.36 sales tax, $127.05 DMV fees, $50.00 Document fee, and $52.50 Texas Inventory Tax. Should be able to get a 2009 for less than that.

Re: Continuation of Xmas in Texas [katylin1]: by alamocity on Sat Nov 14 23:16:40 PST 2009; Ah yes, the famous dealer add on's can be quite a shock, thankfully not all of them do it. As for the fees, you should be seeing the DMV fees as $127.05, along with the Texas Inventory Tax (.002543 times sales price), the doc fee use to be capped here in TX at $50.00 but the law recently changed so watch out for that. To my knowledge there isn't a change between counties on these fees within the state. What part of TX are you looking in?

Standard practice is to have you come in to negotiate the final price but if you already know what price you're willing to pay then you can request a written price quote asking for a breakdown of charges.
