2008 EX-L from Cleo Bay in Killeen,TX
by ktwerp on Tue Dec 16 19:59:30 PST 2008
Just bought for $25,995 +TTL for an OTD price of $27,380.55. Will say that Trade-In values from Edmunds, NADA & CarsDirect were high and that Kelley BB was $750 below so figure some average on them. But don't expect top $$ on a trade in from dealers.

These were all in the central TX area for 2007 EXL RES/NAV: Classic Honda Round Rock gave a quote for $31,700 OTD (The are out of stock now) Benson Honda in San Antonio said they could match any quote, but never gave a quote Fernandez Honda in San Antonio came in at around $31,700 OTD Gunn Honda in San Antonio was at $31850 OTD I had quite a few others in the $32,300, and my highest quote came from Newmeyer Honda in Victora at $33,250, which they wouldn't budge on. I think the biggest problem is that most dealers in this area have managed their 2007 inventory pretty well, so they only have a couple of them left. With $2500 off they seem to be going quickly. We have decided on a 2007 EXL from Cleo Bay Honda in Killeen for $28143 OTD. They have agreed to deliver it to us for no charge (approx 80 mile drive). I'll use the $3500 savings to put my own AVIC-Z2 nav system in.
Question on Registration and Title for a Used Van Purchase
by mohanlal2000 on Tue Jun 12 16:13:38 PDT 2007
Hi, I purchased a certified Honda Odyssey(3 weeks back) from CleoBay Honda,Killeen, TX. At the time of purchase, they had mentioned that they would send the necessary papers for Registration and Title to the department. So there is a sticker at the back of my van stating that the dealer must apply for the title by 06/09. I have not received the registration or title yet. Typically how long does this take. Is there any documentation that I should be carrying with me in the car? Also, even though the van is Certified, there are no papers in the agreement. The dealer mentioned that the VIN number is the evidence. And when I take it to a dealer, it should be ok. Is this true?? Thanks in advance!

You got a good deal. My OTD price was $21,515.99 and that was without haggling. The dealership I was referring too is in Killeen,Tx. They compete very well with the mega dealers from Dallas/Ft Worth and San Antonio. Austin dealer do not deal much.....they don't have too,so I can't blame them. A lot of their customers are from Austin and they give great customer service. Considering your Accord only needs to see the dealer every 5,000 miles or so for an oil change,I don't get caught up in the "Great dealer service" spill. An oil change only takes 30 minutes or so, I could care less if the service manager is all smiles behind the counter,or everyone that works at the dealership is one happy "family". To the person concerned about waiting for the next gen of Accord next year. My advice is too lease this year Accord with all the annoying bugs from 03 fix (ie road noise). Honda will usually contact in the 30 month or 2 1/2 years from now and do a "pull ahead" or let you lease another Honda as long as it is financed through them. That gives Honda 1 1/2 years to get the bugs out of the new gen Accord.

I live in Austin TX and I drove my new EXL-RES home yesterday. Sage Brush Pearl, baby!! A lot of people on this thread have mentioned that Austin Honda dealers are really stingy on their prices, so let me relate to you my buying experience.. I took my time deciding what new vehicle to buy. I have been driving a 2002 Explorer for the last two years, and due to my lack of trust in the Explorer now that the warranty has expired (problem with the rear-end, has been replaced by Ford once already and still makes a whining sound at 60-70 mph), I decided to go back to Honda. I had a 2000 Accord before I bought the Explorer and I was missing the Honda quality. I decided that the Pilot was the best SUV for me, but I knew that Austin was not the place to get it. After gleaning several stategies from this page, I sent an email out to several dealers in the vicinity. This included Austin, Round Rock, Killeen, San Marcos, etc. Based on another poster's experience, I also sent a quote request to Gunn Honda in San Antonio. The email basically said I wanted an EXL-RES in sagebrush or black, and I wanted to pay no more that $500 over invoice. Almost immediately I got a message back from Gunn Honda, saying that their no-haggle price was $30,250, and they could even deliver it to me in Austin unless I had a trade-in. This was less than I expected to pay, and about $1000 over invoice. So this sounded pretty good to me. Later that day I began receiving emails from all the other dealerships. Most of these emails said that I was crazy to think that I could get it for $500 over invoice, and demand was high, blah blah. So I responded to the salesman at Gunn that the price sounded great and I would be coming down on Saturday. The next day, Friday, I received another email from Gunn saying that they had lowered the price that morning, and the new price was $28,500! I was shocked that they would actually lower their price after I had already agreed to pay $30,250. And, $28,500 was actually under invoice, which as fas as I know is almost unheard of with Hondas. Apparently they only had one of each color I wanted, and I knew they wouldn't last long at that price. So Saturday morning I raced down to the dealership, about 90 miles away. I took the Sage Brush Pearl model, and added side steps for another $500 or so. My cash price before TT&L was $29,089. Including TT&L I paid $31,156. The guys down at Gunn Honda were great. I'm very happy with the deal, and it was easily the best car buying experience I've had. Thanks to everyone who posted here, I owe it all to you! If anyone wants more info, just post here and I will gladly email you my salesman's name and contact info.

Thx for the input Marc. I purchased an 04 mag 2dr ex 5 spd w/o side airbags. I purchased the car from Cleo Bay Honda in Killeen tx. I made the deal with the internet sales manager. The experience was awesome and the deal was great as well. They gave me $1000.00 more for my trade than anyone else would and they gave me the car for $15,700.00. It would have been $100.00 less, but they had to locate it and bring it to the dealership. I hope im half as satisfied with the car as I am with the dealership experience. I highly recomend dealing with Cleo Bay honda if you live in the central texas area. I drove from Austin and saved $1000.00 plus a lot of hassle. chris
