by ahagans on Sat Mar 01 21:19:43 PST 2008
I noticed there weren't many info about coupe so here it is. I just picked up mine in Houston, TX yesterday. Coupe 4 cyl EX w/ splash guards, wheel locks, pinstripe and unlimited power train warranty (dealership special). 22350 + TTL , OTD = $23804. This was the only available black EX coupe in houston, austin, san marcos, roundrock area but I still mangaged to get a decent price.
Honda Fit 2007 Buying Experience
by mikejakson on Fri Aug 17 21:40:49 PDT 2007
My OTD price was $18,900. Completely ripped off. MSRP : 16565 OPTIONS: Pin stripe : 195 (OK) Environmental package : 695 (RIP OFF) Alloy Wheels : 1295 (RIP OFF) Tinted Glass: 295 (OK) TOTAL PRICE : 17584.91 Sales Tax : 1099. Dealership Inventory Tax: 38. License : 69.80 Title Trans: 34.00 Vehicle Inspection: 23.75 Documentary Fee: 50.00 Final Price : 18,900. Tips while purchasing 1. Tell them that you plan to finance, do not tell them that you will pay cash if you can afford ahead of time. Normally if you finance they will reduce car price with an intention that he recover car through financing. 2. Tell him upfront that you do not like drama of going back and forth with the management. Quote him a price and be ready to leave if he does not agree. There are lot of dealerships in the country. 3. My take is MSRP (advertized) + $(300 to 500) (options not specified on the honda site) + TTL 4. Definately check with 5 to 6 dealers before purchasing 5. Do not believe the sales person, check every detail of the car (packages) with other dealerships 6. Dealer ships will say that they have just 2 vehicles on the lot and if you delay you many not get it. This is just to trap you. Do not fall for such statements. 7. Sales will test your patience. Keep that in mind. Car was bought at San Marcos Honda Dealership, San Marcos, Tx 78666. I will not recommend this dealership. Hope you get a great bargain. Mike
'07 Odyssey EX-L R&N in San Marcos, TX
by jpape on Fri Dec 08 08:49:12 PST 2006
Bought an '07 Odyssey EX-L R&N in San Marcos, TX for $30,980 + TTL at the end of November using fax attack. The dealer also threw in mud guards, bumper skin, wheel locks, pin stripe, fabric and paint protect, and cargo tray at no extra charge. Out-the-door price including TTL was $33,162 Buying experience was terrific, especially since OTD price was negotiated ahead of time, so I didn't have to worry about any extra charges. The dealer didn't have my color on the lot, so they had to get it from another dealer. We were both surprised to find that it already had the extras on it, but the dealer didn't try to charge extra for them since we had already agreed on OTD price. I highly recommend San Marcos.
Re: Any good deals in TX? [wikilog]

I just bought an EX-L for $29,500 OTD price from a San Antonio dealer right before Thanksgiving. I faxed this offer to 10 dealers in San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston (I'm in Austin). Only the San Antonio dealers replied and only one was able to match my offer with the exact car I wanted. I guess my price was hard to match and the local dealers asked me to go to get my car in San Antonio because it was a price they couldn't beat. The dealer in San Marcos even wanted to match my later offer of $29,200 when I was driving to San Antonio, but the car had 98 miles on it and I passed the deal. This forum is very helpful when I decided what price I should pay. Thank you for sharing the information.
Good experience with Classic Honda on Touring
by enkur on Wed Oct 19 17:08:35 PDT 2005
We had a great buying experience at Classic Honda in Round Rock near Austin, TX. I woke up all set to go buy a new Nissan Quest with all options but somehow did little more work and decided to see how well the Honda stacks up. Boy what a surprise. We first went to Honda and absolutely loved the Odyssey. The dealer gave us a great price and finally told them that I needed to see the Quest and will evaluate at that time. The dealer did not push at all and respected our opinion. We went to Nissan and I was thoroughly disappointed with the Quest. The van had a very "plasticy" feel to it and my wife absolutely hated the design on the center console. She said that in the pictures and the commercial it looks very nice but in person it just didnt work. We politely declined to the NIssan dealer and they were also nice about not pushing. We went back to the Honda delear and they were able to locate one with Nav and DVD for us that was going to be delivered in San Marcos but would try to have it delivered in Round Rock instead. The next day we got the call that the car is in and we can come by and take a look at it. The car had 118 miles as it was driven down from San Marcos! We renegotiated the price as we didnt like that fact that they drove it down from San Marcos and had over 100 miles most new cars have like 20-40 miles. I had bought my new 4Runner with 8 miles and 4 of them were when I took it for a test drive. Finally we got a deal on the 2006 Odyssey Touring with Rear DVD and Navigation for $37200. They were also able to get us a great interest rate considering my credit is not over 700. I got 6.75% with $3000 down. The final breakdown was $37200 Odyssey $600 for Wood trim and Cargo bay $2094.37 TTL ------------- $39894.37 OTD I also got $10900 for my 2000 Toyota 4Runner with 74100 miles which was $400 more than KBB. Overall it was a great experiene and worked with us well. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Austin area. Absolutely avoid First Texas ... I came across some people at our church who described them as very discriminating. We love our Van and looking forward to some fun rides across this great country.

I live in Austin TX and I drove my new EXL-RES home yesterday. Sage Brush Pearl, baby!! A lot of people on this thread have mentioned that Austin Honda dealers are really stingy on their prices, so let me relate to you my buying experience.. I took my time deciding what new vehicle to buy. I have been driving a 2002 Explorer for the last two years, and due to my lack of trust in the Explorer now that the warranty has expired (problem with the rear-end, has been replaced by Ford once already and still makes a whining sound at 60-70 mph), I decided to go back to Honda. I had a 2000 Accord before I bought the Explorer and I was missing the Honda quality. I decided that the Pilot was the best SUV for me, but I knew that Austin was not the place to get it. After gleaning several stategies from this page, I sent an email out to several dealers in the vicinity. This included Austin, Round Rock, Killeen, San Marcos, etc. Based on another poster's experience, I also sent a quote request to Gunn Honda in San Antonio. The email basically said I wanted an EXL-RES in sagebrush or black, and I wanted to pay no more that $500 over invoice. Almost immediately I got a message back from Gunn Honda, saying that their no-haggle price was $30,250, and they could even deliver it to me in Austin unless I had a trade-in. This was less than I expected to pay, and about $1000 over invoice. So this sounded pretty good to me. Later that day I began receiving emails from all the other dealerships. Most of these emails said that I was crazy to think that I could get it for $500 over invoice, and demand was high, blah blah. So I responded to the salesman at Gunn that the price sounded great and I would be coming down on Saturday. The next day, Friday, I received another email from Gunn saying that they had lowered the price that morning, and the new price was $28,500! I was shocked that they would actually lower their price after I had already agreed to pay $30,250. And, $28,500 was actually under invoice, which as fas as I know is almost unheard of with Hondas. Apparently they only had one of each color I wanted, and I knew they wouldn't last long at that price. So Saturday morning I raced down to the dealership, about 90 miles away. I took the Sage Brush Pearl model, and added side steps for another $500 or so. My cash price before TT&L was $29,089. Including TT&L I paid $31,156. The guys down at Gunn Honda were great. I'm very happy with the deal, and it was easily the best car buying experience I've had. Thanks to everyone who posted here, I owe it all to you! If anyone wants more info, just post here and I will gladly email you my salesman's name and contact info.
