Want to know your opinion of LX inventory and price
by dalin on Wed Jul 01 07:00:32 PDT 2009
I am in TX,Houston area and looking for the basic LX model. I was told that the inventory might be low and I may never expect to see a deal like Tampa 1312 for 2009 LX $19400. Check all big dealer's website, they have average 6~7 LX in inventory. But the web information might not be accurate. I have been given as low as $23100 OTD, is this a reasonable deal in TX, or, I should still hold for the end-of-summer clearance when 2010 models are out?
Bought My 2009 Honda Fit Sport Automatic Today!
by mhuynh on Tue May 26 21:44:13 PDT 2009
2009 Honda Fit Sport Automatic Taffeta White No extras, just tint. $16529.14 Selling Price includes the destination charge +$1033.07 Sales tax (TX) +$39.24 Dealer's Inventory Tax (Reimburses the dealer for ad valorem taxes on its motor vehicle inventory. Paid from dealer to the tax assessor-collector. Some BS that isn't technically required to be charged to the customer...) +$33.00 Title +$75.80 License/Reg +$23.75 Inspection sticker +$50.00 Dealer Doc fee/processing fee =$17784.00 OTD Dealership is north of Houston (Kingwood) - Sterling McCall Honda I did a lot of internet shopping and read a lot on these forums and it was very very helpful. I'm extremely happy about my purchase. Most of the dealers here told me a deal for under $18k was ridiculous, but I made it somehow. I had almost every dealer in Houston quote me via email first and went to go see the 4 that had the lowest prices quoted. Make sure to have them disclose if the price they're quoting you includes all fees and list out all the extras that they have added (OTD pricing). I told them over the phone that I was prepared to walk away if I got to the dealership and the prices were above what we discussed for OTD pricing. I got to a couple dealerships and they pulled the "Oops, sorry that's without TT&L..." etc) before and got sick of it. My car had been on the lot for a while, so I guess it was worth it for them to move inventory. Happy Fit hunting! ;)
Purchased Accord LX AT OTD $19700 Houston, TX
by abyli on Tue Apr 28 11:10:43 PDT 2009
It was raining cats and dogs last night, but we went to Gillman Honda SouthWest in Houston and bought the Polished Metallic Accord LX AT OTD $19700 with 2.9% 36 months financing. Really no hassles, the best experience I have had so far.
Re: 2009 Odyssey EX-L in Bay Area [atxodys]

I would say that prices in Texas are higher also. I lived in Houston for 23 years before the last 4 in CA. I think it's all a matter of supply and demand. In TX I think more people buy minivans, and more people are still buying minivans in the current economy. For another example, most of the dealers in the CA central valley (where I think the economy is hitting residents harder) have much fewer cars, especially minivans, than in the Bay Area. Anyway, our driveout was something like $30,3XX, don't remember exactly. The drive out is not comparable also, since in CA you pay your local sales tax rate, where in TX I believe sales tax for cars is a fixed 6.5% or something like that? And DMV (or DPS) fees would vary as well. Hope this helps!
Honda Civic LX at Houston, Texas
by jhouston09 on Sat Apr 18 15:09:49 PDT 2009
I quoted from Gillman, McDavid, Russell&Smith, and Katy Cars of Honda. Among them, Russell is the lowest as following: base: $16,473 tax: $1,029.56 (6.25% in TX) inventory tax: $40.39 document fee: $50.00 title fee: $33.00 license fee: $72.30 inspection fee: $23.75 total drive out: $17,722 Katy Cars of Honda and McDavid sales said they would like to match the offer, which I already feel overpriced by at least $1,000. How much shall I shed off? I am looking at a target OTD price of $16,500; has someone in the greater Houston area has a recent purchase lower than $16,500? thanks.

I was trying to get the same price for the same car, but failed. It seems no dealers in Houston, TX want to go below $31,300 OTD.
