2008 Odyssey EX-L & DVD RES for $29800 before TTD
by onelife on Wed Jul 02 22:38:33 PDT 2008
Just received the above email quote from a local dealer in Memphis, TN. The only other dealer in town offered $30,200 via Internet too. Is $29800 a good enough price to bite? The special financing is applicable too. Should I continue to bargain? how much should I take off? Thanks for any suggestions!

You did fine - a classic example of an overallowance on a trade being made up by higher price on the new vehicle.

I just closed on a deal last night! I ended up paying $25,685.80 ($25,485.80 + 200.00 to transport the color vehicle that I wanted from another state). After TTL, the total came to $26,020. I also negotiated getting $2,000 for my 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager that had 182,000 miles on it. Granted it was in excellentent condition, but it was still old with lots of miles. I think that I got a great deal!

Hi, I am interested in purchasing a Honda Odyssey EX in the Memphis or Jackson, TN area. The best offer that I have received is $25,600 + TTL from Memphis. The Jackson dealership is telling me that there is no way that Memphis' offer will stand if I opt for the 2.9% financing. I am also hoping to trade my 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager. It has 180,000 miles but I have kept in great mechanical order. It has never been in a wreck, and it has new tires, new brakes, new water pump and a 5 year old transmission and air conditioner. Any suggestions or strategies? What do you think that the best price for all would be? Thanks for your help.

looking to buy a CRV 4WD (base model). What price should be considered reasonable with the current $4/gallon gas price? Anyone with good experience with dealers in the Memphis, TN area? Many thanks!

Your quote of $25,994 (before tax) is almost exactly what I paid about a month ago in Memphis, TN. The bottom line is it is a good price (over $3,600 under invoice). Is there any room for negotiation? Maybe a little. Only one way to find out. I might could have got a couple hunred lower but the dealership was the only one in my area that could offer 2.9% for 60 months, and the special financing was only going on for a short period. So once they matched other price offers, I went with them. PS. What is the tax rate in TX? Your taxes are about $300 more than mine (5%).
