Buying a car from a Honda Car Dealer
I would recommend McKenney-Salinas Honda in Gastonia, NC. We purchased a 2011 EX-L (no NAV or RES) at the end of June for: EX-L: $32,830 (INCLUDING $810 destination charge) Roof rails installed $216 All season floor mats $146.25 Cargo tray: $67.86 Folding cargo mat: $71.37 Accessories shipping $24 Subtotal: $33,356.09 NC Tax: $1000.68 NC Tag: $70.50 Doc fee $389 Total: $34,816.27 Their pricing includes pinstripe, wheel locks, Scotch Guard protection and splash guards. Accessories listed were priced to match www.bernardiparts.com prices. I used the Amex zag pricing program (http://amexnetwork.zag.com/main.html?referrer_id=RAMX7191931). You do not need to be an Amex cardholder to use the program. I checked with 5 dealerships (from Rock Hill, SC, Hendrick Honda of Charlotte, Gastonia, Huntersville, to Hickory, NC). The other 4 dealerships pulled out when they saw McKenney's price. McKenney also found us the vehicle in the color we wanted (black) within two weeks. The saleswoman was excellent to work with -- very straightforward. By the way, the Amex zag price was lower than the Costco Auto Program pricing. Hendrick Honda of Charlotte was only willing to give us $1,000 off MSRP for the Costco Auto Program. McKenney had the lowest Amex zag price. Hendrick Honda lowered their Amex zag price to match McKenney's several weeks after we purchased, so you may want to check their current price. Good luck!
I live in Charlotte, NC and I did not opt for the EX-L but did get the EX navi/blue tooth and love it. The car had wheel locks and and mud guards and was everything I wanted. With destination I paid 19,700. What really got me to purchase from these folks (Honda of Rock HIll, SC) was they offered me $1000 more on my 2001 caddy than any other dealer who had looked at it, and $2000 more than most. So, I figure I really bought the car for 18,700 or less. We subtracted the trade in price and added the doc fee, tax and license. (I know...people ask why I'd go from a caddy to a Civic...long story but gas and upkeep were two big issues.) My husband and I were at the dealer on the third Sat. of June right before Father's Day in the afternoon and the place was absolutely dead. I don't think they had sold anything all day and seemed especially interested in closing the deal. I didn't think they would take my offer but they did and it went as smooth as silk. I do wish I had bargained for a rear deck lid spoiler and back seat cup holders....but live and learn. Now I'll have to pay full retail if I want them. One question for you enthusiasts...it's so hard to see as you back up in the Civic and was wondering if anyone has added a back up sensor and if Honda does it or you have to find someone else. (Hubby and I can't). I don't need a camera, but the caddy had a sensor that I loved and counted on. If Honda doesn't do it, where do do you recommend I purchase one and have it installed? So scared to let just anyone mess with the new baby! Thanks!
I've been considering a purchase of a base 2007 SC Automatic, and started getting price quotes from dealers in my area. I've gotten: $21400 and $21763. Both under invoice, with the first being 1k under. These are there last 2007's, so I know they're hot to get them off the lot. I see that there's $1500 cash back to the dealer to them, so they're still making $500-$1000 on the deal. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing the same pricing or less somewhere less. I'm in Round Rock Texas, by the way.
Hey guys, We have been in the market for a new car for several weeks. I have studied this forum and decided that now is a good time to get the 2006 ODY/NAV and DVD that I have been wanting. We went into today to Honda Cars of Rock Hill in Rock Hill, SC. The best deal that they came up with was $2000 off MSRP. When I counter offered with some of the below invoice deals stated on this site, he blew up. He told me to go back on this site and tell everyone that: Quote: "They ought to be ashamed for lying. That is a LIE!!! There is no way that anyone bought an ODY below invoice cost." Never mind $1000 below invoice." He even wanted to print his name and phone number here but I know I can't..LOL I don't think that I have ever been so stunned. This guy has been at this dealership a long time. I'm kind of timid about trying another dealer. Any thoughts?? Thanks to all.
2.49% for 72 months on a Pilot LX in Rock Hill, SC. I don't have my paperwork in front of and I can't remember the OTD price, but they gave me what I felt was a fair price. I pushed the dealer on the issue of extending the 2.49% for the last 36 months (I honestly thought it was too good to be true) and he showed me the verbiage on the back of the contract that was stated above. I also called Honda Finance to confirm and they did. Rock Hill is just across the border from Charlotte, NC and the funny thing is, none of the dealers in North Carolina mentioned the promotion. At the time of purchase the rate was not advertised in Rock Hill either, but I just checked their website and they have a pop-up ad showing the rate at 1.66% for 72 months for Pilots.
