Re: SC Odyssey EXL-RES Price? [ntruroman]

I am in Augusta, GA and after looking around in Atlanta (Conyers Honda had best price, just too far to go) and Aiken, SC we just got a 2007 EX-L without RES or NAV for $30,600 out the door (including tax, fees, title, etc) from Gerald Jones Honda. That is 7% tax here. We are somewhat disappointed in the gas mileage though. No real data yet but it obviously sucks... We are used to a Volvo sedan so we are holding our breath while we watch the needle go down..we may even get rid of the thing already. Don't even have tags yet. We didn't get RES because our kids fight over what to watch so we figured we'd just hook up 2 separate DVD players. Hope you get what you want!!
SC Odyssey EX-L with RES

Thanks to all that posted to this forum before me. I read the forum over the past couple of weeks and listened to the lessons learned from those that purchased an Odyssey. The information saved me thousands of dollars :) . I followed the advice of many in the forum and requested internet quotes from a number of dealers within 100 miles of my home town (Aiken SC). Several responded with specific quotes for the model I desired. Some never responded. However, armed with the available information I went to my local dealership this weekend and test drove the van. They had the color we wanted on the lot with the desired options. I did not think we would ever agree on a price as we started more than $5,000 apart :surprise: . But in the end, I came up $490 and the dealership came down the rest. While I did not get $400 above invoice, I was still pleased with the results. I also had a quote from Bernardi Honda on a 7 year/ 120,000 mile $0 deductible Honda Care warranty in hand when I went to the dealer. Here is the deal I got after about 90 minutes of negotiations: Base Price EX-L with RES including Destination fee, cargo tray, splash guards and wheel locks: $30, 890.00 Admin Fee: $199.50 (did not like it but agreed to pay it) SC Sales Tax $300.00 (capped at $300 by state law) Tag Transfer Fee $25 (state fee) Extended Warranty $1,000.00 (a couple of hundred better than Bernardi) Total out the Door $32,414.50 I did have a trade-in but worked that out after agreeing to the above.

We just bought a 2005 Odyssey EXL. Paid $27820 plus $130 for muds, $120 for cargo tray, $87 procurement fee, $39 tag transfer and $300 tax (sales tax is capped in SC for residents). Total out the door was $28496. This is $129 below invoice excluding the two options. Excellent buying experience. Acutally I never went to the lot. Everything handled by phone and my wife picked up the car when I was travelling. Bought from Superior Honda in Organeburg, SC. Highly recommend. Other dealers Rock Hill SC was about $580 above invoice via phone Dick Brooks in Greer was about $251 above invoice via phone Honda cars of Aiken was about $2200 above invoice in person Gerald Jones Honda in Augusta would not quote over the phone Success, Todd
New Honda Odyssey purchase and warranty

I purchased a 2004 Odyssey from a dealer in Atlanta via the web. I got all the extras (leather, etc.) for under $30k. You need to put one dealer price against another to get the best deal. Also, don't buy the extremely high extended warranty from the dealer before you shop around(call) in Augusta, Aiken SC, and Columbia SC for warranty prices. The dealers at those location quoted 7 yr/100k $0 deductible for about $900 (Honda Care Warranty). The dealers in Atlanta will quote you a price from $1200 to $1700 $100 deductible from a third party warranty company. They will not offer you the Honda Care warranty unless you ask or turn down the third party warranty. Don't be afraid to walk away if they refuse to sell you the Honda Care Warranty. Purchase from the dealers in the areas I mentioned above via phone. You also have 60 days to cancel for a full refund.
