Re: '08 Civic Si 4 dr w/navigation lease [schroeds16428]
by 9900rpm on Fri May 02 10:46:26 PDT 2008
Hi, me again. Just got off the phone with my salesman, and he said they changed things for May just a little bit. Not sure if this is true or not. MSRP on the car is $23695, including destination. This is a 2008 Civic Si 4 door w/navigation. I was told that invoice price on the car, including destination, is $21864. Selling price is $21923.40. Residual on the car is 58% (last month he said it was 63%), for dollar amount of $13743. He said the money factor went up from last month. He did not have the figure in front of him, but I know last month was .00207. I will be registering the car in Philadelphia, PA, which has a 10% tax on leases. This is the price they are giving me. $1286 out of pocket, which includes acquisition fees, doc fees, MV fees and 1st month's payment. Monthly payments will be $315 even. This is all on paper. Do I swing for this deal or not? Thanks in advance.

Hi rsh6, Like carsavvy said, I was deceived by all false numbers thrown by the internet sales department at Sussman Honda in Willow Grove(PA). When I went there the sales manager was rude as was the sales person. They just made a big fun of the written quote i had from another dealer. I gave up on the Philadelphia area dealers and finally bought my Pilot from Willis Honda in Burlington, NJ. I think it is approx 15 miles east of Philadelphia. I got the best price for my trade-in. Here is my experience in short: Vehicle of interest: 2008 Honda Pilot EX 4WD All below prices include destination charge: NJ Dealers: Mahwah Honda $25,033 Burns Honda $25,339 VIP Honda $25,838 DCH Academy Honda $25,338 Coast Honda $27,839 Honda of Turnersville $25,339 Open Road Honda $24,616 Philadelphia Area dealers: Conicelli Honda $25,655 Mainline Honda $ 25,638 Philadelphia Honda $25,239 Sloanne Honda $25,338 Sussman Honda $25,974 ** **(Remember, At Sussman Honda he manager started making nasty comments about their internet quotes that I had to walk out of the dealership in 10 minutes. So this price is not valid.) My final purchase: Willis Honda $24,416 (they basically beat the Open Road deal by $200) I take the pride in paying the lowest price ever paid on Edmunds or any forum I have seen for all 3 Honda cars that I have owned. My philosophy is simple and short...... no negotiating at dealership..... talk on phone an if they can beat the lowest number... I go there and buy. Thats what I have done all the 3 times. ;)

I'm not sure if I can help you out. I just purchased my '08 CR-V EX 4WD on 12/22 and won't pick it up until this coming Monday. :) I had to wait for it to be made in Japan. Anyhow, I live in a suburb not far from Philadelphia, and after getting quotes from around the area and beyond (2-3 hours away), most dealers won't even budge at the price. The lowest someone would give me was 23,200 (1 counter offer from 23,500) while everyone said they won't go any lower than 23,500. We only visited 1 dealer at this point, and they were the only one who would go as low as 23,000 (inc. destination). It's not the greatest deal around, but I got it below MSRP with tax/tags/etc. so I'm ok with it. Tax alone was ~$1300 (PA sales tax 6%). 23,292 isn't that bad, but I'm sure you can get it lower by a bit more. In my area, no one was willing to go lower on the price. One dealer even accused me of making their dealership compete with another for my sale. Isn't that the point? Was 23,292 the lowest quote you got?

Bought an 08 EX AWD in October and paid $23,500 incl. destination. This was before the EX-L's were out. Now my wife thinks she made a mistake and should have gotten an EX-L w/o nav. She thinks the leather and power seat would have been worth it. The vehicle has about 2000 miles on it. What might I expect to get for the EX on a trade in for an EX-L assuming I can get the EX-L for close to invoice. Any ideas on how to approach the dealer on this? What a pain!!!!
