As mentioned, you need to know how much you're paying for the car. What's the price and the money factor? But just based on what you've listed, it looks like an AWFUL "deal". I'm paying $420/mo for the lease on my 08 EXL w/NAV & 4WD with 6% sales tax and nothing down other than the 1st payment for 36 months. Granted the MF isn't as good now as it was in January, but still......

Well.. I wont argue against keeping what you already have.. That surely can't hurt.. But.. strictly from a math standpoint.. It will cost $11K-$13K to drive the Honda over the next 3 years.. That is depreciation and finance charges on your lease.. How much will it cost to drive the Frontier? Don't think about the payments... think about depreciation.. How much will it sell for in three more years? $10K? $13K? Even though that isn't money that you pay out, it is a real cost.. you'll lose probably as much as the lease payments on the Ridgeline. Remember.. even a car that is paid for still has depreciation costs.. Also, if you sell the car, you'll pay off your current loan.. no more interest there... and, the credit card debt will be paid off.. Granted, you have little interest being charged there for the next six months, but at some point, those debts have to be paid as well.. In three years, you will have to get another car... but, you won't have any credit card debt, and maybe more in the bank, because you haven't had to make the credit card payments over three years.. As nice as you say the Frontier is... $22K is a lot of money... If gas costs keep rising, the value may fall more quickly than you think.. At least your depreciation cost on the Ridgeline is locked in by the lease.. Good luck, either way! kyfdx

I just closed on a deal last night! I ended up paying $25,685.80 ($25,485.80 + 200.00 to transport the color vehicle that I wanted from another state). After TTL, the total came to $26,020. I also negotiated getting $2,000 for my 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager that had 182,000 miles on it. Granted it was in excellentent condition, but it was still old with lots of miles. I think that I got a great deal!

Yes, you got a good deal. Frankly I am not sure how the dealer made any money off that purchase and what kind of star alignment granted you that kind of deal. For me, my time is worth money, so I factor in the time it takes to negotiate and to physically pick up the car. I am shopping at dealers who are within a 10 minute drive of my home. Driving across the state would actually cost me money. I guess convenience is worth more to me than most car buyers. I have an offer I find quite fair from a local dealer, and while I like to imagine getting it for your 25,200, that isn't even in the ballpark of the offers I have gotten around here.

I just signed on a Civic Coupe Auto EX for $18090 ($500 under invoice), which includes destination. I am in the Chicagoland area. I financed with 1.9% APR for 36 months. I got the low financing as a recent college graduate without any car credit history. Granted I have a Honda preferred credit score. I think people buying with the college grad program should be able to get the lowest advertised interest rate as long as you have the preferred credit score over 700. Overall the deal went smooth. Make sure you bring your diploma, soc card, and job offer letter to ensure the dealer doesn't have an excuse to not give you the low rate. I did the internet quoting method and negotiated the price before stepping onto the lot.

And when I got there he asked me to produce my calculations for the $28k, which I didn't have. :( The guy from Northwest is telling me this would basically be a zero deal. Do they really ever lose money on a deal? Granted, they are paying interest on the money they borrowed to have the car on the lot and will save on that. A friend of mine told me his last BMW deal got the salesperson fired when she screwed up and sold it to him for a sweet deal.
