The dealer is Jeffrey in Roseville. They seem like a good company to deal with. Ask for the internet manager. Turns out I will not be buying from MI. The dealer in Corvallis, OR called me on Fri. They had a Black EXL that they have been having a hard time selling. Apparently Black is a harder sell up here. He told me that they were motivated to move it, because if they keep Pilot inventory on hand for too long it affects their allocation. Anyway, he asked me if they could make a trade for a black EXL-RES, what would it take for me to buy the car. I really did not want black, but I told him $1200 below MSRP. He called me back and said that his manager gave the go ahead on the price and the trade was for a Midnight Blue EXL-RES with running boards, cross bars, splash guards and wheel locks. Well Midnight Blue was my original 1st choice and although I was not sure if I was going to go for any options, I figured that the options that the car had were ones that I would have considered, except for the Wheel Locks. Anyway, to sum up my experience, I went from buying a car in Mi and shipping to OR to buying a car for immediate delivery in OR for $1200 below MSRP with $1100 of options that I may or may not have ordered. I also got a decent value for a trade in. I am fairly satisified with deal considering I do not have to worry about transporting my new car and stressing about any damage that might occur to it during transport. I guess there are dealers on the west coast that are willing to deal if the circumstances are right. I think they pretty much need to have it on the lot though or readily available. It turns out another OR dealer called me about a Pilot EXL-RES on the lot that he was willing to do $1000 below, but I had already entered into contract.
Odyssey at MSRP w/free accessories in OR/WA area

I have been following this town hall discussion weekly for the past six months and have gleaned a lot of useful information! Wanting to get the best price possible I made notes of what others had paid for the Odyssey and the accessories. I realized that the only people paying under MSRP were those who bought their Odysseys in OH, KY, IL, IN, TN and a couple of other mid-eastern states. No one on the West Coast seemed to be getting any deals! I called at least 13 dealerships within a 200 mile radius of Vancouver WA. All but two dealerships laughed at me when I told them I wanted to pay (for an EX) MSRP, $875.00 for 7/100,000 warranty, + free cassette player & air deflector. The two dealerships who said that would be possible told me they presold and I would have to wait 1-4 months for the vehicle. I told them to call me if something fell through and two weeks later got a call from Thomas Motors in The Dalles OR. They told me they had one in, (I only wanted GG) but without my free accessories. I told them I was only interested in buying with those free accessories. They called me back two hours later and agreed to my terms! I should have asked for the Cargo Tray too, they might have given it to me. ;-) We test drove the Granite Green EX Odyssey and it had no pull to one side or another (as others have complained), heard no sloshing gas, and the doors worked beautifully! They installed the cassette player and air deflector while we signed the papers and we were on our way! No haggling or high pressured sales for rust proofing! (Robbie@autobytel.net) Robbie called a couple of days later and said they have another Odyssey in if I knew of anyone who was interested! We had a great experience and the way I see it, with $600.00 of free accessories, its like $600.00 under MSRP and I feel like we got as good of deal as those buyers in OH and KY! I ordered a Cargo Tray ($57) and Splash Guards ($57) through Hondaparts4you.com and they have free shipping! I've seen those for alot more other places and with huge shipping costs added on. The other dealer ship that was willing to work with me was in Olympia WA called Capitol Honda or Capitol City Honda. Every other dealership I called from Olympia WA to Corvallis OR said I would never find anyone to meet my terms and that I was out of line. I also found a broker in the Vancouver, WA area who goes to wholesale auctions and says he can find minivans less than a year old and at least five thousand dollars cheaper than new. Got my loan through Peoplefirst.com for 6.95%. Thanks to all who have posted what you paid, I couldn't have done it without your help!!!

I read your post with great interest because I live in Eugene and I bought my 2000lx from Kendall in October. I also emailed every dealer in Oregon and a few in Washington. I narrowed it down to 2-3 dealers in the Eugene-Corvallis-Salem area. I wasn't having much success in my view with my salesman at Kendall and eventually worked directly with Darin David one of the sales managers. We came to a fair deal and I've been very happy with the van so far. Only 1100 miles on it (you probably have more already)and no major complaints. I am glad you were happy with them. While I haven't had to take the van in for service yet, the prep work etc. when I picked up my van was very good. My salesman spent plenty of time with me and the van was in great shape. You had pretty special circumstances and Kendall made you happy and that's important, because they didn't necessarily have to, they probably weren't going to see you again, were they? Our credit card also gives us miles, and I think we have good credit, but putting a $25000+? car on a CC? Whoa! What hotel did you stay in? Did you get to see much of Eugene? Enjoy!
