Re: New Pilot Price in Oregon [kimpmui]
by rich97303 on Thu May 15 06:58:48 PDT 2008
Capitol in McMinnville. Use the internet team. Was also able to work about the same deal with Beaverton Honda through internet dept. They were willing to do 20250 for the trade of my used EX, and 26010 for the price of the SE AWD (which is same deal worked at Capitol. Once the price was hammered out, it was a good experience to deal with folks in McMinnville. No funny business added, did what they said they would do. You should able to get an EX AWD for around $24,500 if you don't take finanicing of 2.9. Good Luck. One other word of advice. Don't buy black. One of the huge reasons for the purchase of the New 08 SE (Silver) was because the Black Pilot was harder than hard to keep clean and showed every single door ding. It's was sharp clean, but even the dust in the air make it look like crap a day after washing. RC
2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6
by kmanpdx on Sun Feb 17 10:46:28 PST 2008
Here's my negotiating story from hell.... Beaverton Oregon - Bob Lamphere Beaverton Honda. Some facts: - EX-L V6 - Polished Metal Metallic - Black leather interior - Rear Spoiler - Mud Flaps - wheel locks - 230 miles on it!!! - liked Altima - had pricing for 08 Altima 3.5 SL for 27k (really good deal I think) Ok so the negotiation on the 08 Accord starts. They had a 'sale price' of $28,800. I had an Internet manager offer for the same base vehicle from another dealer that was farther away for $26,868 with mud flaps only. I offered that same amount at Beaverton Honda and of course out comes the sales manager. First thing out of his mouth "We are the largest Honda dealer in the Northwest"...oh boy that means they are not going to deal with me I'm thinking (which turned out true). So I tell him about the offer from another dealership. He says they are lying to get me in the door - call them and ask for a VIN number...so I call to validate. The Internet manager at Gladstone Honda (who was very up front and honest with me) then says sorry we don't have with black leather (I forgot to specify this with her in my email) only grey but we have one coming in will honor at the same price when it comes in. I tell this to local dealer. He tries to tell me that: - that color is the most wanted - Honda Accords are NOT invoive vehicles - they are the largest dealer and there's no way anyone else can sell theirs for that little and make money - he said he would work with me on the Silver accord (they had 4-5 on hand) I tell him: - if you are the largest dealer then you get volume pricing and holdbacks (he stumbled a bit when I said this!) - this vehicle has been on the lot for a while since it has 230 miles on it (plus I test drove it the weekend before) - I don't want the silver - I'll go to 27k (hey I really liked it!) since it has the wheel locks and spoiler he counters - well with the dealer installed accessories I'll want more then that but why don't you and the sales guy talk about it see what you can do I offer sales guy one last time: tell him 27k, I'll do financing through you and since you are 5 miles from my house all service work will be here. He comes back w/ a no and I leave the lot. Then the salesman calls me later in the evening and has the audacity to ask me if I purchased from the other dealer. I explained to him again that the other dealership didn't have black leather but have one coming in. He said they did too and give me a call if you'd like to deal on it (yea right I thought). In my opinion - this dealer was very selfish. I offered a thousand OVER invoice -- which that's the published invoice - I'm sure they were making much more then that on the vehicle (please anyone correct me if I'm wrong on that point). I'm very frustrated at the "Large Volume" dealers - don't be fooled people - this is the second Large Volume dealer I've dealt with. Because they are large they know that the vehicle is going to sell eventually anyway and as such are not willing to work with you or give you a good deal!!!! So I'll be purchasing from another dealership soon enough. And I'll go out of my way to get service somewhere else as well.
Re: 2007 EX & EX-L [balticblue]
by murphcon on Wed Nov 28 09:36:50 PST 2007
If you don't mind driving to the Portland area you can save some money. I just received a quote from the internet dept. at Beaverton Honda of $28,153 for a 2007 EX-L with RES. They have thirteen available. The quote included splash guards and roof rack cross bars. The document and temporary tag fee for a Washington resident totals $70. I just bought their last 2007 EX-L for $26,499 with splash guards and the cross bars. The EX-L stock in the Portland area is shrinking but there seems to be plenty with DVD's. The $28,153 is $1654 more than I paid for the same car from the same dealer without the RES. You may be able to negotiate further on the price.
Bought EX-L on Saturday (Portland, OR)
by go2sailing on Mon Nov 05 11:35:37 PST 2007
I finally pulled the trigger and brought EX-L (no DVD, no NAV) on Saturday from Beaverton Honda (26959 base price + 141 spash guard + 218 DMV fee = 27318 OTD). I read through this forum for a while and the information here is very helpful. Here is summary of my experience: I started shopping around minivan by testing drive Sienna LE AWD, however, the flooded bad comments about run-flat-tire scared me away AWD. The Sienna's LE model interior looks cheap, and the console arrangement is not attractive to me either. So, I went to Beaverton Honda and looked Odyssey. For the same reason around the tire, I opt out Touring model easily and focused on EX-L model. The integration of of NAV system and the car is fancy, but I don't think it will be very useful for my daily commute driving, so I opted out NAV. The Honda rear entertainment system cost around $1400 more. I don't have confidence a DVD machine can last 10+ year like a car mechanical part, and I am afraid the technology will evolve as time runs. I did research on aftermarket DVD system, that cost ranges from $300-$1000 installed in Fry's or Circuit city. So, I finally end up lock on EX-L no DVD no NAV model. I sent quote query by visiting individual dealer's website. The Capital Honda gives the lowest quote $26759 + $141 + $218 promptly. But they don't have color I like and will require $500 deposit if I want locate a car. In Beaverton Honda, the sale guy Justin is super patient, no push, and is very helpful. I test drove around 5 individual EX-Ls, although they are exact make, exact same engine, but the driving experience, especially noisy level have difference. Some are quieter and smoother than others. Maybe it is because the mechanical tightness and will end up the similar after several thousands of miles, I don't want to bet. Beaverton Honda still has quite bit of 07 Odyssey inventory. 08 model already started showing. From outside, 08 model has different shape of wheel, different shape of back light, and has a mesh cover underneath the front bumper to protect the radiator. I am surprised 07 model does not have the mesh cover, anyway I assume it should not be a big deal since this line has been out from 05, if it was a big problem, it should already be fixed earlier. I don't know how big difference of the new version variable cylinder engine will make, anyway I went with the way to save bit money now.
